As Kurapika begins his lesson, the user of Silent Majority notes that everything is going according to plan. The doll being used can only be seen by the user and Loberry, the possessed. Kurapika warns the guards not to cross a white line that has been set up. Myuhan purposely steps over the line to irritate Kurapika, to which Kurapika firmly orders him to step back. He attempts to verbally spar with Kurapika, though Kurapika gains the upper hand. The Silent Majority user prepares to attack, and Kurapika starts the lesson. Furykov reads Kurapika's hand gestures, Nen usage, and clothing to determine that he is a Conjurer who needs his right hand to activate his ability, leading him to believe that Kurapika was the one who could force confessions. As Kurapika teaches the lesson, Bill has Oito practice Nen usage. Furykov and Babimyna discuss Kurapika, and decide that it is best not to make any plans as there are still many unknown variables. Kurapika asks if any of the attendees already know how to use Nen, to which Furykov and another guard respond. Loberry wonders why those two came, when she notices the doll. She draws everyone's attention to it, though they can't see it. The doll uses the opportunity to attack and kill Barrigen by exsanguination. Sakata quickly shoots Barrigen to get rid of the snakes on his body. Kurapika, while remaining calm, realizes that this is not the work of a Guardian Spirit Beast, but rather, an assassin, and resolves to find the perpetrator swiftly.

Following Barrigen's death, Sakata and Hashito accuse Loberry of the murder and proceed to detain her. Sakata contacts the Supreme Magistrate to retain a case against the Sixth Queen Seiko for plotting to assassinate the Fourteenth Prince Woble. However, Cleapatro denies Sakata's request and instead sends investigators to observe them for the next 72 hours.

In Woble's room, Kurapika asks the remaining bodyguards to rethink about the offered Nen course. He leaves the bodyguards and asks for Queen Oito to come with him in another room. As they leave, Furykov asks Babimyna if he should go as well. Babimyna shrugs it off and tells Furykov not to interfere with his mission. Meanwhile, Shimano prepares the food and is confronted by both Kurapika and Bill, with the former intending to ask her two questions. Kurapika interrogates her whether she knows about Barrigen's murder and Nen, to which Shimano staunchly denies. According to her, she has never heard of Nen, but continues to suggest that perhaps the snakes were Woble's Nen Beast. Kurapika explains that the prince's parasitic Nen beasts cannot be seen by normal people, but a Nen user's conjured beasts can be seen by both Nen users and normal people. He later theorizes that if a prince withdraws from the Succession War, then the other Nen beasts would disappear. While he finds an opportunity to question the other bodyguards with his chains, he asks both Bill and Shimano to watch out for everyone.Kurapika goes back out to meet the bodyguards and finds out that none has withdrawn. He instructs them to put their hands together and proceeds to teach them Nen. Queen Oito then asks Shimano about the reason she stayed, since the compensation is not worth it. Shimano explains that her family has served Kakin's royal family for generations, though her parents failed to do so when they became sick. It was their dying wish that Shimano should serve the family until her death. Oito says she understands, and thanks her whole-heartedly. She asks if Shimano has siblings, and Shimano answers that she is an only child. The queen reveals she is the middle child of five siblings and that her older brother used to push her around when she was little. Meanwhile, Kurapika enlists Furykov and Belerainte to be his helpers.

Down in the Black Whale's fifth floor, the group of three men ask for payments if people want to go towards the cafeteria. The passersby complain that the men only bribed the soldiers so they can do as they pleased. Then, from behind, Phantom Troupe members Nobunaga, Franklin, Feitan, and Phinks appear. Phinks threatens the three to move, but they attempt to fight back. Easily defeated, the three men explain the system of the Mafia Community in the Kakin Empire. They reveal that Princes Zhang Lei, Tserriednich, and Luzurus have connections to three Mafia communities. Realizing that they are going nowhere, the Spiders ask instead how to pass through the floors, but the men refuse to be caught between the struggle. Franklin asks about the most powerful group, to which they answer would be the Xi-Yu Family, affiliated with Third Prince Zhang Lei. Phinks changes the topic and tasks the men about finding someone over 190cm tall. He tells them that finding that person is their mission now.Elsewhere, Chrollo meets Machi in a crowded area. Machi demands that she will kill Hisoka, but Chrollo finds it unreasonable. She further demands that they flip coins, but Chrollo answers that coin flipping is only between two Spiders. Additionally, the conflict is not only between two members, but every member of the Troupe, including Chrollo himself. He is positive that Hisoka is in the ship, and that they will find him.

In a darkened room, King Nasubi stands nearby Prince Momoze's corpse. His butler voices out his deepest condolences, yet Nasubi only answers that his daughter has become a foundation to the Great Kakin Tree and now lives in a brilliant lifestyle. Surrounded by 14 capsules, Nasubi reiterates that his daughter still lives.

Furykov and Kurapika notice that Shedule and Yuhirai are capable of using Nen proficiently already, arousing their suspicions. They deny any knowledge of Nen, but wish to speak to Kurapika in private. Kurapika agrees to talking to one of them after the lesson. Furykov realizes that they are being forced to use Nen unknowingly, and begins thinking about the assassin hiding in the room.

Seiko is interrogated by an investigator working for Cleapatro. She refuses to answer any of the question, invoking her right to remain silent. The investigator informs her that she will not be recorded, but she remains obstinate. He promises her that he can prepare anything for her while she is under surveillance for the next 72 hours.

Biscuit and Hanzo notice that Marayam's Nen beast is growing and looks more defensive, believing that Momoze's death accelerated its growth. At 10:00, two guards take over their shift, and the two go to bed. To reduce the Nen beast's defenses, Hanzo uses a clone to investigate. He wakes up Tuffdy, fabricating a narrative that Benjamin wishes to hire him, and that they will forge evidence to frame Nagmum for Momoze's murder. Tuffdy asks how Hanzo knew it was him, unintentionally confessing his guilt, and Hanzo restrains him, revealing that he narrowed the suspects to him and Nagmum.

The girls in Salé-salé's room ask him to tell them what he intends to do at the banquet, but he does not reveal anything.

Tyson asks her bodyguards what they thought of her book. Izunavi admits that he has not yet read it, while the other bodyguard lies and says that he enjoyed it. The other bodyguard asks Izunavi about the creature that rests on their shoulders. Izunavi replies that he does not know, but he does not believe it to be a threat. The bodyguard points out that the creature is not on Orau, meaning there is some special demarcation.

Following the lesson, Sakata asks Kurapika to remain during the discussion with Yuhirai, reminding Kurapika that he needs Zhang Lei's support. Yuhirai informs Kurapika that Halkenburg wants information regarding Nen beasts. Yuhirai explains that when Halkenburg saw all the unconscious guards, he himself became unconscious, and a feather mark appeared on the back of their hands. The guards had no memory of losing consciousness, and none of them found it strange that the prince was going to bed at an unusual time. Kurapika reveals that their experience bears the hallmarks of a type of Manipulation Nen, specifically request-type Manipulators, where the user manipulates the target but gives them the freedom of choice. Yuhirai says that Halkenburg would believe that the symbol represents the will of his convictions flowing in his guards. Kurapika and Yuhirai point out that that explanation is contradictory when considering that Halkenburg seeks to eliminate the monarchy, and he desires no bloodshed. Kurapika tests Yuhirai's Nen abilities and surmises that Yuhirai can use Nen, but not control it. He also explains that, since Halkenburg has the mark, he is equally susceptible to the risks carried by the Nen beast. To prevent Halkenburg from breaking the conditions, Kurapika advises Yuhirai to deduce the nature of this ability, offering to come up with a countermeasure when given adequate information. Kurapika promises that the information will not be used for malicious purposes, as Oito's desire is to leave the boat. Kurapika urges the lower-ranked princes to unite as the upper princes are now on the offensive. Yuhirai, Sakata, and Kurapika all agree to prioritize the protection of the princes while silently pondering how they can gain an advantage in the situation.
