Konami berates Osamu for trying to recruit Jin into Tamakoma Second, while Kizaki actually praises him for it, but asks what his motive was. Osamu reasoned that he was told that there were other things than personal growth he needed on which to focus, so he prioritized Jin's recruitment. Osamu also brings up the fact that Jin said there is someone more suitable than he to join Tamakoma Second, though Kizaki and Konami are both unable to think of someone. Yōtarō immediately suggests Hyuse, though everyone dismisses it.
Yūma and Chika arrive to take Osamu to HQ, as Yūma had been requested while Chika would train. Osamu ponders Jin's words about being able to think of moves regardless of appearances being a strong point.
Ema brings Chika and Natsume to Kageura Unit's operation room, much to Nire's surprise and delight. Ema explains that he deduced that Chika's fear of shooting people, stemmed from the belief that she could be shooting a real body. Ema reveals that Border's bullets had a safety measure where if a flesh body was hit, the person would merely faint from pain and impact. To cope with this, Ema introduces Lead Bullet and Lightning. Lead Bullet could not hurt anybody, not even a flesh body, while still being useful by weighing down foes. He goes on to explain that it could not be used in conjunction with Bagworm, meaning her location would be revealed if she used it. He also explains that another drawback was the fact that Lead Bullet lowered the speed and range of the bullet, but with Chika's Trion, she could restore the speed to a battle-worthy one. Natsume applauds Ema for this, but Ema reveals that Hatohara created it, but she could not do it for her Trion levels were too low. Natsume points out that he has a crush on Chika, but Ema internally reveals that he simply did not want Chika to suffer the same way Hatohara did.
Meanwhile, Enedra explains Aftokrator's oligarchical system. There are four major households, with minor households under them, and subordinate households under those minor households. Each major household has their own piece of territory, and their head is a feudal lord. One of these feudal lords is Hairein. He increases his family's power by collecting Trigger users, which is why he was looking for Trigger users. With the issue of a new god in place, the feudal lords have opted to scour other nation's for a new god as doing so would allow the feudal lords to become the new power of the next generation. As Hairein believed that they may not be able to find a candidate worthy of being god, he had a subordiante as candidate. While it would start conflict, and have him lose power, he wanted to become the next power. He had to leave Hyuse behind as he would have rebelled against them since the candidate is Hyuse's family head.
Enedra explains Hyuse's background: he was bought by the lord of House Ellin due to his large Trion capacity. House Ellin is noted for being kind towards the children it purchases, treating them more like family than mere tools. Hyuse had heard rumors about his lord being god, but Hairein denied this. To ensure Hyuse's loyalty, Enedra believes that Hairein secretly told him that they would kill Enedra to divert Hyuse's attention from god. Enedra thinks this way because Hairein had done the same thing to him: told him that the secret objective was to abandon Hyuse. Enedra suspects that Hyuse will use the upcoming invasion to try and return to Aftokrator to be with his master. Osamu and Yūma leave after this. Yūma asks Osamu if he intends on having Hyuse join Tamakoma Second. Osamu notes that the problem is that he was part of an invasion force, which would invite Border's reluctance to have him enlist. Osamu states that they should focus on their upcoming Rank Battle.
Chika continues practicing Lead Bullet with different Sniper Triggers. Ema concludes that the best Trigger to use is Lightning. Chika smiles and elucidates that she is happy that the three of them (Natsume too) are talking and discussing, to which Ema agrees.
The meeting regarding the invasion concludes. Azuma invites Miwa to have lunch with him, but Miwa declines. He tells Jin not to be reckless concerning the mission that he was given. Arashiyama comforts Jin by reminding him that all the pressure was not on him, to which Jin agrees, especially since they didn't know who was coming.
6 agents from Galopoula are heading towards Earth in their ship. They reveal that Rodochroun could not send any agents so they provided Trion Warriors instead.
Hyuse is viewing a map of the Neighborhood, noting the proximity of Galopoula and Rodochroun to Earth. Yōtarō enters his room and assures him that he would be able to return one day. Simultaneously, the Galopoula agents discuss their mission. Their captian, Gatlin, explains the mission to be damaging Border such that they could not retaliate against Aftokrator. Since the method was left to Gatlin, he decided to attack the base, but not the people. Reghindetz and another argue that they should go all-out, but Gatlin explains that he didn't want Galopoula to become Border's next target. One of them points out that Aftokrator's motive was to have that scenario happen, which Gatlin agrees to, much to Reghy's contempt. Gatlin says that carrying out the mission to their fullest extent wasn't worth becoming Border's enemy. In essence, they would cripple Border's military power by attacking key points with Trion Warriors supplied by Rodochroun and themselves. Gatlin orders the mission to be carried out only after field investigation.
Yūma wanders the halls of HQ, lost, and with the intent of going to the solo Rank Battles place, when Kakizaki helps him out. Yūma thanks him, but Kakizaki reveals that he is Tamakoma Second's next opponent. Kako appears, and asks Yūma to join her unit. Yūma declines, but she apparently expected this.
Osamu visits Arashiyama Unit, but Arashiyama was at the meeting. He talks to Tokieda regarding his loss in yesterday's Rank Battle. He goes on to explain that he was thinking of team strategies, but he was having trouble. Tokieda recommends that Kitora mentor him, since she also suffers from low Trion.
Tokieda explains Kitora's past and how she rose to B-Rank as a Gunner, but had to switch to Scorpion since her Trion did not allow for bullet-fighting style. Kitora refuses, stating that it would be impossible for Osamu to compete with the top B-Rank agents even if she did train him. Kitora asks Osamu his goal, and he tells her that he wanted to be chosen for the Expedition Force by the end of the season. She dismisses it as impossible, stating that he would need another 2 years until he could even come close to achieving that. Osamu asks if she has a better idea, but she refuses to tell him, stating that he was taking being treated kindly for granted. She uses Ninomiya bowing down to Izumi to become his student despite being the No. 1 Shooter as an example to prove her point. Osamu then bows to Kitora, virtually begging for her help. Kitora agrees.
Kitora teaches him to use Spider to set up traps to trip or block enemies. It could be set up so that only teammates would easily see it. However, it could be noticed easily by experienced fighters and the trap's purpose would be lost. At the same time though, by putting a trap, it would automatically divert the opponent's attention towards it, which could help a pro-fighter like Yūma fight. Osamu realizes the reason this strategy is so effective is that it does not require him to directly fight. With this newfound piece of training, Osamu admits that he is somewhat excited for the upcoming Rank Battle.
Osamu thanks Kitora, who demands a more formal response, for the training. When asked about her harshness by Ayatsuji, she says that the kindness will become a burden on him if he becomes overdependent on it.
Kako explains to Yūma that she is recruiting prodigies with the first letter "K" in their surname. She also reveals that Kako Unit is aiming for the Expedition Force, and that A-Rank members get customized Triggers. Yūma declines anyways, since he plans on doing those things with his team. Kageura arrives, having been waiting to fight Yūma as he was lost. Kako and Kageura fight over having Yūma, but Yūma states that he has to return.
Osamu visits the Tachikawa Unit operation room to practice something. Izumi divulges that he will be a commentator for Tamakoma Second's upcoming match. Osamu promises to do well.
On February 19, Katori Unit is doing patrols right before their Rank Battle, defeating a Mole Mod. Katori complains that this gave them a disadvantage. At the same time, their opponents were weak as they had defeated Kakizaki Unit several times before, and Tamakoma Second suffered an embarrassing loss against the top B-Rank units. Wakamura disagrees, which leads to an argument that is broken up by Sōmei. Wakamura notes Sōmei is angry, and Katori blames him for it, leading to another argument which Miura tries to break up. From the defeated Mole Mod, a new Trion Warrior, the Dog, comes out. In the Galopoula invasion ship, Gatlin notes that their security was high, which meant they probably knew an attack was imminent. He explains that the target is underground, and they would attack at sundown. The target is Border's Expedition ship.
Jin senses the arrival of the invaders and recommeds that Shinoda use Pattern A, defending the HQ base. Tachikawa moves out. Jin orders Konami to tag along with Tachikawa, as he saw a future where Tachikawa would be cut down. He tells Konami that the opponents might be more difficult that anticipated.
Sawamura detects a surge of Trion Warriors in the northeast, so Shinoda orders most forces to be stationed there, with one unit in the south and one in the west. He also declares that the Rank Battles would go on as usual, but if agents were targeted, the Rank Battles would be halted and the participating units would go on defense duty.
