Wrold Trigger Arc by Arc Review (5/5) Part 9

Osamu discusses the two enemy teams. Katori Unit has an ace, Katori, who is responsible for the downs, and she is supported by her teammates. Kakizaki Unit, on the other hand, had all members relatively equal in terms of responsibility. As both teams possess no Snipers, Chika will be the key to victory. Osamu predicts that Kakizaki Unit will choose a setting with many buildings to make things harder for Chika. Kakizaki Unit discusses the choie of their map, which is an industrial zone. Their plan is to use the buildings to hide and get close to Chika, and then take her out. Kakizaki compares Tamakoma Second to Katori Unit in that both teams have aces, both of whom must be avoided. Kakizaki informs them of Tamakoma Second's goal to join the Expedition Force. He declares that they would not let Tamakoma Second win, though. Katori Unit is studying the other two units, but Katori shows no interest in doing it. Wakamura chides her for not being more involved, noting that their team was dropping. Katori states that if it's the case, then it's the case. Wakamura alludes to Katori's attitude, and recalls former incidents where she simply gave up after encountering a challenge. Katori tells him that she would not tolerate being criticized by someone less talented than she. He yells at her, telling her to actually try before deciding that things are not worthy of pursuit. However, she totally disregards this, and Somei informs them the battle is about to begin.

All the teams teleport into the map, scattered. Osamu orders Chika and Yūma to rendezvous with him. However, Katori approaches Yūma.

Katori goes headfirst at Yūma, much to her teammates' dismay. They are locked in a high-speed battle, with no side having a clear advantage. Teruya asks Kakizaki if she should ambush them, but Kakizaki denies the offer. Their plan is to attack the weakened enemies as a unit. Chika climbs a tall structure to establish a good sniping position. Taketomi asks why Osamu has not attacked despite being in a good position, and Izumi informs her that he was waiting for Katori to come to him. As his words indicated, Osamu begins shooting as Katori gets nearer, though the only thing this manages to accomplish is force Wakamura and Miura to get to her faster. Katori decides to target Osamu instead, and she leaps towards him, only to find herself tripped by Spider. Chika attempts to shoot her, but Miura blocks the attack with a Shield. Unfortunately for him, Chika used a Lead Bullet, which weighs down on him signficantly. Wakamura arrives, and Yūma springs towards him, using Spider to change his trajectory and deeply cut Wakamura's shoulder. Katori decides to move position, and cuts off the part of Miura's arm that contained the Lead Bullet. Taketomi notes that within the short interval between round 4 and round 5, Tamakoma Second has adequately developed new skills. Meanwhile, Kakizaki Unit has regrouped and are going to make their move.

By using Osamu's Spider, Yūma launches multiple rapid attacks on Wakamura, with the latter being unable to keep up. Seeing the situation as unfavorable to them, Miura suggests the rest to make a tactical retreat. Kakizaki Unit arrives at the battle site and chooses to attack the wounded Katori Unit since they have very little information on Tamakoma Second's new tactics. Tomoe manages to distract Katori Unit such that Kakizaki could attack them when their guard was down. Katori tries to rush in, but Wakamura stops her which leads to an argument. Since the rest are unable to come up with a solution, Somei orders them to retreat into the open. At that moment, Osamu and Yūma take the opportunity to attack Kakizaki Unit from behind and forces them to retreat as they were attacked on both ends. Taketomi and Izumi explain that Katori Unit predicted that Tamakoma Second would make a move, and had they stayed still, they would not have been able to earn enough points to move up the rankings. After their brief encounter, Wakamura criticizes Katori on her hasty actions, but Katori points out that it had no net effect. She claims that they protected her because they had to. As Osamu sets up more wires, Kakizaki Unit decides to go after Katori Unit and avoid Tamakoma Second altogether while Katori Unit decides to launch an ambush by drawing Kakizaki Unit into the open. However, Chika shoots the building under which Kakizaki Unit is taking cover, shocking both Kakizaki and Katori Unit.

Both teams are alerted to Chika, but they are unable to take action because of Osamu's Spider. Tamakoma Second holds the advantage with Chika's destructive long-range power combined with the wires. Somei orders her unit to create a provisional alliance with Kakizaki Unit against Chika. By doing this, Osamu and Yūma would either concentrate on one side, or split up their power by attacking the units individually. As long as Yūma doesn't target them, they can pressure Chika. Using Bagworm, both teams move in, and Osamu and Yūma split up; Osamu takes on Katori Unit while Yūma intercepts Kakizaki Unit, managing to cut off Kakizaki's arm.

Osamu intercepts Katori Unit while Yūma intercepts Kakizaki Unit. Katori is annoyed that she cannot get past Osamu, who is supposedly the weakest one in the match. Yūma uses Grasshopper to maneuver around his opponents' gunfire and slash them. Both of them use Spider wires set up by Osamu previously to incapacitate their foes and both are supported by Chika's Black Lightning. This allows Yūma to decapitate Tomoe, and get Tamakoma Second 1 point. Katori decides to plow forward, believing that it would be easy to defeat Osamu by simply cut the Spider wires, only to trip on one obscured from her vision. Chika uses the opportunity to snipe her leg, lodging Lead Bullet in it. Katori has no choice but to cut it off. Wakamura realizes that Tamakoma Second must have planned in great detail for this. Teruya tells her captain that she'll go and deal with Chika; he approves of her decision.

Katori orders Wakamura to attack Osamu, only to have her orders refused. On Yūma's side, Teruya decides to go for Chika while Kakizaki would keep Yūma occupied. Kakizaki reminisces on a press conference he attended with his then-teammate, Arashiyama. When the media asked whether the two prioritized their family's safety or other citizens' safety, Kakizaki decided to give the safe answer; that the citizens come first. However, Arashiyama responded that he valued his family first, but once he could guarantee his family's well-being, he would relentlessly protect the citizens, which the reporters seem to admire more. As Arashiyama Unit progressed, Kakizaki's belief of self-inferiority grew, and he decided to leave the unit when it was to be the PR unit. From there, he recruited two talented agents: Fumika Teruya and Kotarō Tomoe to be a part of his new team, with Madoka Ui. Back in the present, Yūma overwhelms Kakizaki with the speed of his attacks. However, Kakizaki is unwilling to go down for the sake of his teammates' talent. Yūma manages to stab Kakizaki in the chest, but Kakizaki uses the opportunity to shoot Yūma at point-blank range.

Kakizaki Bails Out. Yūma suffers trion leakage from a wound, but not actual fatal damage. Yūma uses Scorpion to cover the wound, much to the surprise of Izumi and Taketomi. Teruya prioritizes getting to Chika.

Katori Unit remains immobile due to Osamu's Spider. Somei orders Wakamura and Miura to get behind Osamu to encircle and ambush him while Katori would distract him from the front. Usami informs Osamu of the upcoming attacks. Katori then attempts to demoralize Osamu by telling him his quest for a kidnapped friend is useless as he is too weak. Osamu responds that he's doing it simply because it's the right thing to do, irritating Katori. Wakamura and Miura attack Osamu, but he block it with a Shield. Wakamura trips on a wire, and Osamu uses the opportunity to ram him into the ground with his shield. He then has pre-placed Asteroid bullets shoot the trapped Wakamura, forcing him to Bail Out. Yūma goes for Katori, and they begin fighting, but she realizes that if she cannot defeat him with one strike, he will Bail Out due to trion leakage, which would result in the point being given to Kakizaki Unit. She hesitates, which allows Yūma to dismember her arm. Miura comes to help her out. Yūma attacks him and he blocks, but Osamu launches a sneak attack with Asteroid, forcing him to Bail Out, and cornering Katori.
