Episode 35: Piccolo returns to his team and he gives Vegeta advice on being cautious against Frost. Frost explains to Vegeta he will use tricks to ensure his victory, even though he may be seen as a weakling but that's his specialty. He then tells Vegeta he has another acidic poison needle and he will use it with no restraints. The Referee says he will definitely disqualify Frost if he used the weapon again but Vegeta demands that disqualification for using weapons is not allowed. The referee also gets Champa's and Beerus' thoughts, which it seems they do not care. Frost even insists on allowing killing for that match only and it is shown the rule has been lifted for the match. After Champa rings the gong, the referee begins the match. Immediately, Frost charges at Vegeta while Vegeta transforms into a Super Saiyan. Vegeta then delivers a blow to Frost, which sends him flying out the barrier, then Vados reconstructs it.
Beerus looks over at Goku and starts to look for an injury made from Frost. Goku is wondering if he is able to reenter the tournament due to it. Beerus then finds the hole where Frost poisoned him and Goku is now reinstated into the tournament. Goku wants to fight after Monaka but Beerus is reluctant to it, saying he must go after Vegeta. Whis tells Beerus and Goku that Monaka has been unconscious since Goku's Kamehameha in the first round. Whis questions Beerus keeping Monaka's identity a secret but Beerus wants to reveal it at the end. At the same time, Goku is trying to talk to Monaka but Beerus quickly shields Monaka from Goku. Goku waves his hand in front of Monaka's face but nothing happens; at this moment, Beerus hits Goku. Beerus tells Goku that Monaka is incredibly dangerous while meditating and if he's disturbed, regardless of friend or foe, he will incinerate them as he once destroyed a planet that way. In the arena, a new barrier around the ring has been created. A new rule stands that if one touches the barrier, it counts as a ring out.
Beerus rushes over to Champa because a new rule has been made without his consent. Champa argues that the humans on his side of the barrier could have been in danger if something happened again but Beerus doesn't care about them. They try to settle it in a rock-paper-scissors match but fail to. At the same time, Vados sees Frost leaving the tournament grounds. Frost locates Champa's cube and the treasure their team is promised if they win the tournament. Frost wants the cube because if in his possession, neither the Gods of Destruction nor the Galactic Patrol could chase him. As Frost tries to enter the cube, Hit confronts him. Frost is terrified by his presence because he is a legendary hitman and he wonders if Champa sent him to kill him or if a survivor from a planet he destroyed paid him. Hit does a technique to Frost to prevent him from taking the cube and the riches, then he carries back to the tournament grounds. Vados sees this but she says she didn't have to intervene.
Auta Magetta is the next contestant from Universe 6 to compete. He then grabs his lava and enters the ring. Old Kai wonders if he is a robot but Fuwa tells him that he is a Metalman from the Galactic System 66950 and says there should be Metalmen in Universe 7 too. Old Kai asks Kibito if he knew of them but Kibito doesn't. Back in the ring, Magetta drinks his lava to power up his body. Vegeta says he could predict his fighting movements because of his build. When the match begins, Magetta goes after Vegeta with brute power. Vegeta uses his speed and strength to his advantage. However, because of Magetta's metallic body, he can withstand Vegeta's attacks. He also powers up after this. He gets faster and stronger as noted by Vegeta. As Magetta uses a Tornado technique, Vegeta decides to use the air as his method to stay away from close combat from Magetta. As he uses his a ki barrage, Magetta fires his lava saliva to counter. Vegeta tries to get away from the lava but he is too focused on the barrier rather than Magetta. As Vegeta gets caught in the smoke of the magma spit, Vegeta transforms into a Super Saiyan. However, Magetta is making it hotter in the barrier, making Vegeta sweat.
Episode 36: Vegeta is flying in the air, realizing that Auta Magetta is generating the intense heat inside the barrier, and starts to feel disoriented. Champa starts giggling and Beerus notices. Goku yells for Vegeta to descend to the floor, due to the level of oxygen inside the barrier being low. Beerus suspects that Champa somehow sabotaged the barrier when it was created, but Champa shoots him down. Vegeta says he does not need advice from Goku, but realizes that he needs to finish the match as quickly as possible. Bulma is frustrated that Vegeta will not listen to Goku's advice. Suddenly, Magetta uses his Lava Spit over and over, which Vegeta dodges. While Vegeta prepares to attack, Magetta shoots out hot water vapor, then uses his Lava Spit on it to create a vapor explosion, which knocks Vegeta back. The Saiyan prince barely manages to keep himself from touching the barrier by using his ki to stop his momentum. Piccolo realizes that due to the decreasing oxygen and increasing heat, Vegeta is rapidly losing his stamina, and Whis agrees, saying that he is in a dangerous situation.
Getting angry, Vegeta begins charging his Galick Gun, wanting to end the match. As a response, Magetta powers up, releasing an immense amount of hot gas, which raises the temperature even higher. Vegeta fires the Galick Gun, and Magetta counters with his Lava Spit, which overcame Vegeta's Galick Gun. When Vegeta tries to dodge the attack, the Lava cooled and solidified, creating a rock club. Magetta fired another Lava Spit at Vegeta, who chopped through the attack, but Magetta grabbed the rock club and smashed Vegeta towards the floor. The impact of the hit forced Vegeta to land on the outside of the ring on his feet, and he presumably loses by ring-out. Everyone is surprised, and Beerus screams out in frustration while Champa cheers. However, the referee examines this, and reveals that Vegeta has not fallen out of bounds, saying he had landed on a broken piece of the stage. While everyone is relieved, Goku and Whis worry about Vegeta, who is frustrated that he was saved thanks to the rules. Magetta fires another Lava Spit at Vegeta, who repels the attack with an Explosive Wave. Vegeta further powers up, which causes the barrier to crumble and eventually shatter, sending its scattered pieces everywhere. Goku is impressed that Monaka appeared unharmed from the attack. Whis shields the audience of Universe 7 with his staff. Relieved he is able to breath normally again, Vegeta begins to charge the Final Flash, and Magetta powers up again. Vegeta fires the attack, and Magetta fires a strong Lava Spit, however Magetta is seemingly overpowered and the impact stuns him. Vegeta then punches him with all of his strength, calling him a "piece of metal junk", which caused part of the stage to break and Magetta falls to the floor, losing the match by ring-out.
The referee confirms this, and Vegeta is declared the winner. Vegeta powers down and asks Whis for some water, and Whis conjures some with his staff. Champa is frustrated while Vados repairs the arena. Whis tells Vegeta that there was no need to go that far, pointing out Magetta on the sidelines crying. Whis tells them that as a Metalman, Magetta is extremely sensitive and loses his will to fight when insulted. Beerus asks why Whis left out such an important fact, while Goku says that if they knew that in the beginning, the fight would be boring. Goku also points out that if Vegeta went all-out, the fight would have ended quicker, but Vegeta scoffed, looking at Hit, whose eyes are still closed. Cabba then jumps up, exclaiming he is up next to fight.
Episode 37: Whis and Vados are repairing the ring, which was partially destroyed from Vegeta's match with Auta Magetta. While Bulma is wiping the sweat from Vegeta's face, Trunks tells him to defeat the remaining opponents, and Vegeta says he plans to do that. Bulma tells him not to force himself too much, as Goku will be fighting after him. The audience of Universe 7 are enjoying watermelon brought by Chi-Chi. Champa yells out that they are being noisy, and Beerus engages in an argument with him. Whis and Vados interrupt them, revealing they have completely repaired the arena and made it a few times bigger. Beerus says that they will be getting rid of the barrier out-of-bounds rule, as the next match is announced. Vegeta and Cabba make their way to the ring while Fuwa reveals that Saiyans in Universe 6 followed a different evolution, becoming called the heroes of justice. Cabba politely introduces himself as Vegeta tells him not to hold back, which Cabba agrees to do. Beerus rings the bell, and the match begins.
Cabba begins to assault Vegeta, who is surprised, but pushes Cabba back. Then, to Vegeta's surprise, Cabba charges a Galick Cannon, and Vegeta counters it with his Galick Gun, impressed that he and Cabba are evenly matched. Vegeta then tells him to get serious and transform into a Super Saiyan. Cabba says he cannot, and asks Vegeta to teach him how to transform. Vegeta, getting angry, transforms into a Super Saiyan and assaults Cabba, constantly knocking him in the air. Yamcha wonders if Vegeta is back to his old, evil self, while Beerus wonders if Vegeta knows that killing Cabba would result in a disqualification. While a weak Cabba tries to surrender, Vegeta grabs him by the collar and threatens to kill Cabba if he surrenders. While Vegeta prepares to finish off Cabba, he threatens to also destroy Cabba's home world, Planet Sadala, and killing everyone he cares about. Angered, Cabba breaks free from Vegeta's hold, telling him to keep Planet Sadala out of this. Cabba then transforms into a Super Saiyan, surprising everyone. Cabba then attacks Vegeta, overwhelming the Saiyan prince with his blows and pushing him back. While Vegeta tries to fight back, Cabba knocks him into the air and slams him back into the floor. Cabba then fires an endless barrage of energy blasts back down to Vegeta, who blocks the attack, smirking. Cabba then punches Vegeta, who takes the attack on his forehead unharmed. Vegeta tells Cabba not to forget that feeling.
Confused, Cabba powers down, and Vegeta tells him that becoming a Super Saiyan is only possible through sheer anger. Vegeta tells Cabba to transform on his own, which he successfully does, realizing that Vegeta deliberately acted cruel to drive him to transform. Beerus calls it stupid that Vegeta was training Cabba, and Champa mocks him. Suddenly, Vegeta transforms into a Super Saiyan Blue, which causes Hit to open both eyes for the first time in the entire tournament. He looks over at Goku, who is smirking at him, and closes both eyes again. Cabba is shocked at the transformation, and Vegeta says he will someday reach this form with enough training. Vegeta suddenly punches Cabba hard in the gut, telling him not to forget this pain. Cabba falls unconscious, and Vegeta is declared the winner by knock out. Vegeta pours a vase of water on Cabba, causing him to wake up. Cabba thanks him, and Vegeta tells him not to forget the pride of the Saiyans, and to surpass him. Cabba tells Vegeta that the king of Planet Sadala is strong and proud like him, and Vegeta wants to meet him someday. The next match is announced, as Hit jumps to the arena and confronts Vegeta. Champa and Vados talk about Hit being a legendary assassin and he was promised the Cube if he won.
Episode 38: Vegeta's next match is against Hit, the last opponent from the Universe 6 team. He realizes that Hit is hiding his ki, and from the little amount of it he can sense, he deduces that Hit is strong, but he does not intend to lose. Whis explains that Hit is the best assassin of Universe 6, and he has never failed in taking out his target. Beerus is satisfied about the match and rings the bell. Vegeta quickly assumes his Super Saiyan Blue form, and comments on Hit's basic fighting stance. Goku notes that Hit's stance has no openings, and is impressed. Hit charges towards Vegeta, and Vegeta is impressed at his speed, but he begins to counterattack. However, Hit suddenly lands a hard blow on Vegeta, knocking him back. Vegeta says that for a moment, he could not see Hit's attack at all, while Hit tells him to surrender. Refusing to, Vegeta charges behind Hit and attacks, but Hit quickly dodges the attack and knocks Vegeta away from his side. Vegeta assumes a defensive stance, preparing to counter Hit's attacks, but Hit charges towards him and successfully lands blow after blow with Vegeta unable to defend, wondering how he is attacking him. Vegeta falls back, powers up and prepares to fire a blast, but is surprised to see Hit put his hands in his pocket. Hit then lands a blow on Vegeta's side, and Vegeta wonders how he could attack that fast, even from a distance. Hit once again tells Vegeta to surrender.
Goku teleports to Jaco, and asks him if he can see Hit's attacks, and Jaco replies that he could not, which surprises Goku. Vegeta thinks to himself that even though Hit's attacks cannot be seen, Vegeta is still standing after taking so many hits, and Hit's light attacks are his weakness. Vegeta deduces that he just has to land one hard blow, and charges towards Hit, but Hit stops him in his tracks with an attack to the gut. Vegeta grabs Hit's arm, and says he's not going anywhere as he is about to punch Hit, but Hit lands another hard blow on Vegeta's gut. Vegeta powers down and falls over, defeated. Everyone is shocked by this, and Hit asks the referee since killing is against the rules, what should he do since Vegeta no longer has the strength to even surrender. The referee declares Hit the winner as Hit walks away, praising Vegeta for being the first one still alive after taking so many of his attacks. Champa laughs while Beerus is annoyed. Trunks and Goten rush over to Vegeta with a towel and water, and Goku tells Krillin to give him a Senzu Bean. Jaco tells Goku that while Hit is insanely fast, he completely disappears when he attacks. Jaco shoots down Goku's theory of Hit being an invisible man, saying his clothes would still be visible. Vegeta is frustrated over his loss while the Galactic King wonders if Hit is using Time-Skip.
Jaco informs Goku about the Time-Skip ability, saying that even though 0.1 seconds does not sound much, for someone with extraordinary speed, it is a huge advantage. Bulma tries to get Jaco to arrest Hit for manipulating time, as that is a galactic offense, but Jaco refuses, saying he does not want to die. Goku tells her that if Hit is arrested, then he wouldn't be able to fight him. Whis is surprised that someone other than him is able to freely manipulate time, as Goku is announced to be Hit's next opponent. Goku asks Vegeta for advice, but Vegeta just tells him to do his best, while Goku is worried that he is gonna be in trouble. Beerus tells Whis to tell Goku how to counter the technique, and Whis says that finding out on his own is good training, also reminding him that if he loses, they still have Monaka, Universe 7's strongest fighter. Whis then sarcastically reveals that Beerus lied in order to motivate Goku and Vegeta and brought an amateur. Piccolo, overhearing this, is surprised, and deduces that if Goku does not win, it is all over.
Champa rings the bell, and the match starts. Hit asks Goku if he forgot to transform, and Goku says he is saving it for later, until he finds a way to counter Hit's technique. Hit says that Goku must be young due to casually revealing his strategy, and Goku says he is much older than he looks, while Hit replies that he is over 1,000 years old. Goku then starts the match and charges towards Hit, appearing behind him and attacking, but Hit knocks him away. After a series of trial-and-error, Goku reveals he found a hint on how to counter Hit's attacks, and charges towards him again. When Hit tries to attack, Goku blocks the attack, which slightly surprises Hit. Goku then attacks again, managing to put a scratch on Hit's cheek, surprising both Champa and Beerus. Goku manages to block another attack from Hit, and retaliates, knocking Hit back. Goku reveals that he predicts what Hit's movements will be after 0.1 seconds, and Hit takes his hands out of his pockets. Goku says he will now use his full power.
Episode 39: Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan Blue. Afterwards, Goku and Hit continue their match. Goku has the upper hand during their encounters. Goku manages to counter Hit's Time-Skip, which infuriates Hit, realizing he's at his limit. After barrages of punches and kicks, Hit attempts to get stronger by shouting, the same way Goku does. However, doing so does not change his performance, even said by Vados when Champa is wondering if Hit has gotten any stronger. At a point when Goku charges at Hit and attempts to punch him, Hit uses his Time-Skip and lands a blow to Goku in his abdomen. The referee wonders if Goku, who is currently in pain on the ground, could continue the match, but after several check-ups, he is about to announce the winner but Goku manages to tell the referee he's able to continue.
Hit realizes the only way he could get stronger, not by transforming. He can only get stronger by growing, which is also realized by Piccolo, saying he got stronger in a short period of time. Hit explains to Goku that he didn't have the need to get stronger but since he pushed him, he's able to grow to greater heights. After growing, Hit says he's able to extend the time-limit of his Time-Skip for one-fifth of a second. Champa wants Hit to finish Goku but he lets Goku get on his feet to continue fighting because he was able to help him grow. Vegeta is mad that Hit is able to get stronger through battle, because Saiyans get stronger through battle. While Hit is in his new stance because of the new potential and Goku is in his fighting stance, Hit tells Goku that he made a mistake, thinking he could predict his movements after one-fifth of a second. After this, Hit attacks Goku using his Time-Skip. Hit tells Goku that he continues to grow and his technique is now able to extend to half a second.
Hit calls for the referee to check up on Goku because he is unable to do anything in his present state. However, Goku manages to get up from Hit's attacks. Goku tells Hit that he wasn't trying to hold back during their match, but he's been practicing a new technique, which he planned to use against Beerus, who is surprised at hearing this. Goku powers up as Vados wonders if Goku has a form stronger than Super Saiyan Blue as Champa orders Hit to stop the Saiyan. However, Hit allows Goku to use his technique because he was able to help him grow wanting to find out who will win in the battle for power as everyone notes on how his words make him sound like a martial artist.
Goku stops powering up to everyone's shock before he uses Kaio-ken with the power of Super Saiyan Blue. After his uses the technique, Goku explains to Hit that there was a ten percent chance of him succeeding in using the technique and there was a 90% of him dying if he didn't control his power correctly. Goku displays his power to Hit, charging around him, showing his incredible speed as the assassin is left speechless. Beerus is surprised that Goku was planning to use that technique against him as Whis asks if he's worried he'll be in trouble if Goku does use it against him. Beerus shrugs this off as Whis asks what he thinks of the power and Beerus states he was wondering why Goku hadn't use the move against him sooner. An irritated Vegeta remembers Goku using Kaio-ken against him in their first match on Earth. He is also angered that Goku was able to surpass him again. Old Kai speculates to his fellows that Goku never used Kaio-ken with Super Saiyan because the form puts stress on the body and using Kaio-ken would make it worse in comparison to throwing your life away.
Goku tells Hit that Super Saiyan Blue has perfect ki control so he was able to use Kaio-ken with the form. Goku powers up using Kaio-ken, using Kaio-ken times ten. Immediately after, Goku attacks Hit with his immense power and speed. Hit is unable to keep up with Goku, even attempting to use his Time-Skip but Goku managed to surpass it. Goku and Hit fight rapidly around the tournament. After Goku knocks Hit into the sky, he notices that the form is unable to use Kaio-ken for long so he fires a Kamehameha at Hit. Hit time skips through Goku's Kamehameha and Goku charges at him. Hit attempts to push back the Kamehameha but the collision causes an explosion.
