Anime Look Back: Hunter x Hunter Episode 116-120 Summary

Episode 116: Gon and Killua find Neferpitou inside the room as Doctor Blythe heals an injured Komugi. Neferpitou turns behind to see Gon's aura intensifying and darkening. Gon introduces himself, but Neferpitou doesn't listen; its attention is focused on its task at hand. Killua notices its uncanny and passive reaction and analyzes the situation. He perceives that Neferpitou is actually healing Komugi and is protecting her. Killua remembers what his grandfather had told them earlier.

However, Gon's sees Neferpitou as enemy and demands to have a battle with him. Neferpitou then bows her head and places her palms face-up which stops Gon in his tracks. It then asks him to wait which enrages Gon even more and his aura becomes stronger. Killua comes to a conclusion that Komugi was injured because of the previous attack of Zeno's Dragon Dive Nen ability.

Neferpitou asks again for Gon to wait and promises to do anything he will say. But Gon remains unconvinced, his anger getting the best of him again, and Neferpitou admits that Komugi is someone special to the King. She promises to do whatever Gon will want after Komugi is healed. Gon loses his temper again and yells at Neferpitou. Killua intervenes and tries to convince Gon that Komugi was probably injured by the invasion. As Gon scolds Killua that he cannot trust that creature, Neferpitou suddenly breaks her left arm as a reminder of her promise. Gon is angered and confused by Pitou's sudden determination to save a human life, which contradicts her savagery against Kite. In his rage, Gon smashes the floor and begins to cry. He releases another surge of aura. He prepares Jajanken, to which Killua reminds him of their real objective to get back Kite. Gon then unintentionally insults Killua by stating that it's easy for to remain calm like that since he has no concern in this fight.

Fortunately, Gon calms down and asks Neferpitou how long she will take for the healing to be done. Neferpitou replies that a full-healing would take three to four hours which Gon refuses to wait for. Then, Neferpitou asks for just an hour so that she could heal the most critical injuries. Gon tells Neferpitou to come to Peijin with him after an hour to heal Kite. He sits down in front of the Royal Guard and is determined to wait there for an hour. Meanwhile, Killua appears to have left.

Killua perceives that it is more than enough as he only needs one chance.

The tower bursts and Knuckle jumps out of it. Menthuthuyoupi extends his limbs to attack him, but when Knuckle reaches the ground and continues running, Menthuthuyoupi abandons the chase and returns to his position by the central stairway. He continuously calls for them and eventually becomes annoyed when no on answers him. He thinks that he has been left behind by the two other Royal Guard and the King.

Knuckle returns in the staircase and finds Shoot almost dying. He realizes that Menthuthuyoupi must have seen Shoot on the ground but did not attempt to finish him off, despite Shoot being prepared to die. Knuckle and Shoot feel humiliated; they think that their opponent is not taking them seriously. Shoot begins to cry when Menthuthuyoupi looked at him like he was trash. Knuckle carries Shoot off while promising to hit the enemy.

Menthuthuyoupi's voice echoes in the throne room but does still does not receive any response. Morel hears him from inside the Smoky Jail and thinks that his students could be defeated. He waits for Shaiapouf in his cocoon and admits that he did not expect for Shaiapouf to stay too long. Shaiapouf reads Morel's emotions and the Hunter already feels doubt, worry, am impatience. He takes delight in these negative emotions which will affect Morel's decision-making.

The presence of APR and its increasing numbers made Menthuthuyoupi more annoyed. He stomps back to the central stairway, annoyed on APR and the disappearance of the King. When he arrives, Knuckle stands below and at the sight of him, Menthuthuyoupi's temper bursts. He shouts and transforms into a massive form. He attacks Knuckle and the tower is almost destroyed. Knuckle takes Shoot and runs away as Menthuthuyoupi uses his newly-discovered Nen ability, Rage Blast. He realizes that he could use this power to protect the King and destroy the intruders.

Knuckle observes Menthuthuyoupi from above and plans his next strategy. He would make the Royal Guard angry again and while Menthuthuyoupi powers up for another Rage Blast, Knuckle will attack.

He gives them the impression of being enraged once again and anticipates that Knuckle will show himself again to hit Menthuthuyoupi during his opening. When A.P.R. announces another addition in interest, Menthuthuyoupi hits it and sends it flying across the crater.

Inside the throne room, Morel plans on stalling Shaiapouf whatever battle happens outside his Smoky Jail. However, Shaiapouf's isolation in his cocoon and his distance from Morel enables him to sends trillions of microorganisms small enough to pass between the smoke. With this, Shaiapouf's escape is guaranteed.

Ikalgo travels underground in search for Palm. With the help of Flutter's Nen abilities Satellitonbo and Super Eye, he is able to monitor many areas of the place, including the door leading to Bizeff's private warehouse, and the elevator. Ikalgo watches as Bloster steps out of the elevator. He begins to worry of what mistake he might have committed during their encounter on the ground floor. Soon, Ikalgo finds the warehouse and calls out to the girls. He presents himself as Bizeff's messenger and interviews the girls held there. It is revealed that the girls are not allowed to speak to anyone and they found it queer for Bizeff to send a messenger for them. Continuing on his search for Palm, Ikalgo finds a message written in Nen and can only be seen using Gyo. Palm's message state that she has gone into the palace, and if she didn't return before the mission, then it must be presumed that she is dead.

Ikalgo leaves disheartened and encounters Bloster near the elevator. Bloster asks if he has accomplished his mission for Hagya, to which Ikalgo says yes, and Bloster informs him that Leol gets mad when called Hagya. Ikalgo realizes his mistake and Bloster opens fire without warning. The body of Flutter gets destroyed and Bloster leaves the underground, completely convinced that the fake is dead. Ikalgo hides under the truck and watches Bloster leave. However, inside the elevator, Bloster is asked for a pass-code and the elevator stops from ascending. Ikalgo perceives that Bloster doesn't know that the elevator underground needs a pass-code to continue. Ikalgo takes this as his chance to escape and find his teammates.

Menthuthuyoupi continues to call out for Knuckle. Knuckle worries for Shoot's safety and eventually shows himself to Menthuthuyoupi. The two fighters exchange insults and Menthuthuyoupi gets delighted to have his false rage give Knuckle an impression. He begins to power up again, and Knuckle runs down to land a hit or two. But before he can do so, Menthuthuyoupi gets a hold of himself and attempts to give Knuckle a punch that would surely kill him. Menthuthuyoupi's attack is cut short when a strong bolt of lightning hits him, rendering him paralyzed for a few seconds, which enables Knuckle to land eight hits on him. Knuckle rushes back upwards as Menthuthuyoupi tries to comprehend what just happened.

Above the crater, Killua shows up and Menthuthuyoupi recognizes him from the first assault on the staircase. Killua descends the crater, engulfed in his lightning aura and ready to take on Menthuthuyoupi.

Episode 119: Killua descends the crater and activates his Nen ability Godspeed. He attacks Menthuthuyoupi continuously, with the Chimera Ant unable to attack back because of Killua's speed. Menthuthuyoupi becomes interested of the turn of events. Suddenly, Killua's Godspeed powers down. He races immediately back onto the surface, chased after by Menthuthuyoupi. But he does not find Killua; Meleoron has arrived and used his ability God's Accomplice to turn him and Killua invisible.

In the underground, Bloster encounters difficulty ascending. The elevator needs a pass-code which Bloster has no idea about. He enters one pass-code, and the elevator's system rejects it. Ikalgo plans how to get rid of Bloster. His initial plan is to take Bloster away after the elevator releases the sleeping gas. Another plan is to kill Bloster and Ikalgo will use his corpse to escape. As the system demands another pass code, Ikalgo rushes into the monitor room. Bloster escaped the elevator by shooting the doors and Ikalgo hides himself in the monitor room. He closes down the shutters, trapping Bloster. The sleeping gas in the elevator is released and Bloster takes the last pathway Ikalgo prepared for him. But as Ikalgo closes the shutters again, Bloster propels himself with his guns and escapes the trap.

Ikalgo stresses himself on how to take out Bloster and comes up with his final plan. The shutters open again and on the other side is an armor vehicle. Bloster takes it on, firing on the vehicle's side and destroying the tires in the process. The vehicle slams into the entrance of the elevator, blocking Bloster's entry. From the inside, Ikalgo light up a fire and uses the smoke to escape. He enters the elevator by squeezing through the small gap between the vehicle and the doors. The sleeping gas fills the room and Bloster falls asleep. Ikalgo prepares to take him out but eventually retreats back into the monitor room, crying for his weakness. Within the shifted central tower, Morel doubts his next course of actions. He contemplates whether to attack or not.

Episode 120: Knuckle returns to the place where he has last seen Shoot but finds no one there. Morel finally attacks Shaiapouf's cocoon. It is revealed that Shaiapouf has already escaped Smoky Jail earlier and has known that it is Morel's plan to keep him within the smoke. Shaiapouf anticipated that Morel would stay in front of his cocoon for some fifteen minutes, and he admits that he overestimated the Hunter. Shaiapouf then activates his Nen ability Beelzebub and countless small clones of himself circle around Morel. In his defense, Morel uses his Deep Purple ability and summons 89 smoke puppets. Shaiapouf's clones, when attacked and broken, only reform which makes them look invincible. As Morel and his puppets run after the clone, Shaiapouf himself appears behind Morel and snatches his pipe away.

Morel is now left defenseless, and without his pipe, he cannot summon more smoke puppets. Menthuthuyoupi suddenly appears and asks he is is an Esper. Before Morel could answer, an enraged Knuckle arrives and demands where Menthuthuyoupi has taken Shoot. Morel attacks Menthuthuyoupi with his smoke puppets and forms them to look like Knuckle. Menthuthuyoupi alters his body structure and four more limbs appear on his back.

Within the palace, Hina and Shidore plan on leaving and encounter Bizeff along the way. He is stuck under the big pile of debris and pleads for Hina to send for help. When she refuses, Bizeff promises her to give her the treasures in the underground in which he has the access. Hina complies and helps Bizeff, and together they walk towards the underground entrance.

Shaiapouf discards on Morel's pipe on a river and once again sends his Beelzebub clones to monitor the events in the palace. He reveals that he has not entirely escaped the cocoon before, but rather reduced himself to bee-size. When Morel attacked his cocoon, Shaiapouf hid himself. Back in the palace courtyard, Morel's Deep Purple puppets attack Menthuthuyoupi and the Royal Guard easily takes them out one by one. Shaiapouf's clones reach the place and find Neferpitou still healing Komugi while Gon watches nearby. Shaiapouf guesses that Gon is an enemy and wonders why he has not attacked Neferpitou yet. Outside, the clones find Hina, Shidore, and Bizeff approaching the underground entrance while Welfin spies on them from behind. Also, in the soldiers' lounge, a trapped human is said to be born soon. Shaiapouf, in his main body, arrives in the palace and is surprised to see Menthuthuyoupi fighting more than 50 enemies.

Menthuthuyoupi plans on putting an opening for himself to lure the real Knuckle. He carefully makes an opening and Knuckle lunges in for the attack, but Menthuthuyoupi's spikes hit him and the smoke dissipates. Morel reveals that there was never a real one, and this angers Menthuthuyoupi once more. He begins to power up and the real Knuckle punches him before he could explode. Knuckle realizes that it is impossible for Menthuthuyoupi to move Shoot away.

Shoot opens his eyes and three doctors attend to his injuries. From the corner of his eyes, he could see Knov leaving his dimension. Menthuthuyoupi's explosion destroys the central tower. Hina, Shidore, and Bizeff rush into the underground entrance while Welfin continues to spy on them. But he cannot attack them as he is paranoid of Hina and Shidore's abilities. Neferpitou's Doctor Blythe ability continues to heal Komugi. He begs for Shaiapouf not to come closer, but Shaiapouf doesn't seem to be willing to follow.
