Anime Look Back: Hunter x Hunter Episode 121-125 Summary

Episode 121: Neferpitou tells Shaiapouf not to come any closer, to which Shaiapouf replies that he could have killed Gon if Neferpitou remained silent. Shaiapouf admits that Neferpitou's words surprise him. As he turns to leave, Gon tells Shaiapouf to shut up. In some place else, Killua recharges himself through a socket while giving Meleoron some instructions. Meleoron worries about Gon and Killua, but the latter assures him that it will be fine and that he has things under control. Later, they part ways.

Shaiapouf takes his turn to leave but Gon orders him not to move. Neferpitou agrees with this, but Shaiapouf refuses not to do anything. Neferpitou insists that Komugi's healing should not be interrupted, as it is the King's orders. In mention of the King, Shaiapouf begins to wonder what has happened when he was trapped in Morel's Smoky Jail. Then, he promises Gon not to move in turn of telling him what happened thus far. Through telepathy, Shaiapouf tells Neferpitou to drop hints and be sure to make it normal. If not, Shaiapouf promises bloodshed within the room.

Menthuthuyoupi makes another attempt to control his rage. He builds it up until he transforms into a centaur-like creature. He begins to take out the remaining Deep Purple puppets of Morel who watches closely. When the ten puppets are done, Menthuthuyoupi finds Morel who is drained of his energy. Menthuthuyoupi admits that Morel and his teammates' determination and efforts make them amazing. Morel didn't anticipate this. He accepts his death as Menthuthuyoupi raises his blade to strike him down.

As the blade descended, Morel suddenly disappeared, much to Menthuthuyoupi's surprise. He inspects his blade; blood drips down, indicating that Morel is injured. He deduces the possibility of a Nen user able to teleport or make people invisible. Meleoron is revealed to have saved Morel in time, and is now taking Morel to a safer place. However, Menthuthuyoupi finds the trail of blood and follows it. Just as Meleoron watches the Royal Guard and his breath begins to run out, Knuckle reveals himself to Menthuthuyoupi. Knuckle demands that Morel should be left alone, and he and Menthuthuyoupi should fight. Menthuthuyoupi refuses unless Knuckle takes out APR to make it an equal fight.

Morel pleads Knuckle not to do it, but his cry was not heard due to Meleoron's God's Accomplice ability. With him only hearing that, Meleoron loses his hold on Morel and backs away. Menthuthuyoupi sees Morel lying on the ground, and Morel tells Knuckle not to worry about him. Menthuthuyoupi approaches the wounded Morel and makes another attempt to kill him. As a last resort, Knuckle removes APR. Meleoron releases his breath and is now visible, collapsing on the ground in disbelief. Knuckle prepares to fight Menthuthuyoupi, but the Royal Guard spares the three heroes as a sign of respect for their determination. He brushes him off, claiming that his priority is to find the King. Menthuthuyoupi allows Meleoron and Knuckle to take Morel to a doctor, and if Knuckle still wants to fight, he can come anytime he wanted. With that, Menthuthuyoupi runs off.

Meleoron and Knuckle attend to Morel, and from behind them, Knov arrives to take Morel back into his dimension, bald from his anxiety and mental breakdown. He reveals that Shoot is also being taken care of. A messenger of Chairman Netero has also informed them that the plan is successful: to take the King into an appointed location. Knov asks about Palm who remains MIA.

As Morel and Knov leave, Knuckle and Meleoron set out to hunt the remaining Royal Guard.

Episode 122: Netero and Meruem reach their destination through Zeno's Dragon Head. The place is used for testing weapons, and Netero encourages the King not to hold back. Meruem underestimates Netero and begins to describe what kind of world he would make, wherein the weak are protected and few humans are worth keeping alive, such as Komugi and Netero himself. Meruem suggests that if the Chairman backs out, he would spare his life.

Meanwhile, back in the Royal Palace of East Gorteau, Neferpitou relays the information Shaiapouf wants to hear since the invasion took place. Neferpitou adds some bits that Gon did not know, and tells Shaiapouf that the King has left willingly. He points to the direction the King had gone, which gives Shaiapouf the hint of south. With his Beelzebub Nen ability, Shaiapouf's six-sevenths part of the body will go to the King, while the remaining will stay with Neferpitou and Gon.

After fully describing his image of a new world, Meruem invites Netero to have an open discussion about it. Netero recounts the order of the V5 to destroy the Chimera Ants. He refuses the offer of discussion and proceeds to use Nen against the King. He activates his 100-type Guanyin Bodhisattva ability and uses First Hand against Meruem, a direct hit which did not do any damage at all.

Shaiapouf finds Menthuthuyoupi and is surprised of the new form of the latter. Menthuthuyoupi is also surprised of Shaiapouf's small form, and Shaiapouf explains that he has to escape without alerting the enemy. Shaiapouf notices and remarks how Menthuthuyoupi has grown up. After explaining what has happened, Shaiapouf asks Menthuthuyoupi what should do. The latter regards it as a foolish question and answers that they should go to the King. He grows a pair of wings on his back and sets off.

Back to Meruem and Netero, the King emerges unharmed from the First Hand but doesn't fight back. Instead, he insists on that discussion and sits on the ground. Since Netero insists on fighting, he attacks again using his Third Hand. Meruem exudes some of his aura, strong enough to prompt Netero to distance himself away from the King. But as Meruem escapes from the attack, he sits back again and tells Netero nothing could persuade him but words. Netero finally thinks of a plan and asks Meruem if he would like to know his name. The Chairman explains that his subordinates were present at the Chimera Ant Queen's deathbed, and that she spoke Meruem's name with her dying breath. Netero adds that his subordinates might be dead from fighting the Royal Guard. In an attempt to make the King fight, Netero says if Meruem makes him admit defeat, he would tell him Meruem's name. The King accepts this challenge, and the two are ready to battle.

Episode 123: As the King Meruem and Chairman Netero prepare for their final battle, Ikalgo continues to cry for his weakness for not killing Bloster. He does not notice the entrance of Hina, Bizeff, and Shidore on a truck. When he finds out, he is quickly confronted by Welfin, who is prepared to use his Missile Man Nen ability. Despite his warning, Ikalgo proceeds to attack Welfin with his Air Rifle. Welfin is unable to ask questions, but the Missile Man's projectiles hits Ikalgo, which don't do anything at first. Soon afterwards, it is revealed the attack made black centipedes grow inside Ikalgo's head. The centipedes are made from Nen and will continue to grow if the host is resistant to Welfin's terms. Welfin warns Ikalgo of the excruciating pain but Ikalgo dismisses it, attacking Welfin once more with his rifle.

After being attacked three times, Welfin pretends to faint unsuccessfully, and Ikalgo is ready to kill him. Welfin admits that there is no way to remove those centipedes, as he has never thought about it. At the same time, Ikalgo realizes that the centipedes in his head start to fade when Welfin suffers and begs for mercy. Then, in an attempt to remove the centipedes, Ikalgo asks about Welfin's past. He recounts when he was confronted by Yunju's division in NGL, and was consumed by the Queen. He also remembers his father strangling him, and his friend Gyro. Welfin expresses his desire to find his friend, and the centipedes disperse, confirming Ikalgo's theory. Before leaving, Ikalgo asks about Palm, and Welfin directs him upstairs, explaining that there is a captured woman trapped in a cocoon up there. Just as Ikalgo is leaving, Welfin admits that speaking honestly and opening up feels amazing after lying and not trusting anyone all these years. Upstairs, Palm leaves her cocoon, only to be reborn as a new Chimera Ant.

Episode 124: Heading out of the Soldier's Lounge at the East tower, Palm finally arises from her cocoon as a Chimera Ant with fish scales and fins on her forelimbs and her crystal ball placed on her forehead. Meanwhile at the hallway just across the room, Killua has finished recharging electricity for the fight. As he crosses the hallway intersection he suddenly stops when he recognizes a familiar presence. Using his reflective yo-yo to spy just around the corner, he sees that it's Palm but becomes unsure of her identity when he sees that she looks different.

Killua confronts Palm after deducing that she still recognizes him. Palm asks Gon's whereabouts but Killua refuses to tell her fearing about Gon's emotional state. Seeing Palm's transformation might cause Gon to breakdown. With both sides refusing to back down, they engage into battle. Palm suddenly transforms into the Black Widow—her ability to wrap her hair all around her body making it into a black dress and wide brim hat costume. In the middle of Palm's attack, Killua suddenly breaks down into tears revealing out loud his reasons for hiding Gon's whereabouts. Hearing this stopped Palm to her tracks.

A chibi Pouf who is actually hidden in Palm's Black Widow hat suddenly reveals himself ordering her to kill Killua in his vulnerable state. She, however, refuses and kills the chibi Pouf instead with a punch. The fight ends with Palm deactivating her Black Widow and thanking Killua for bringing back her memories. She says that Gon needs him more than anyone else.

Meanwhile, flying far away south with Youpi is the real Pouf with the conclusion that Palm has failed as an experimental soldier and that memories are not needed for their Chimera Ant army.

Episode 125: On the west tower's second floor, Meleoron watches closely as Knuckle appears behind Shaiapouf. He challenges Shaiapouf in a battle, which the Royal Guard does not deny, but Shaiapouf also admits that he is only a clone, and that his main body is already making its way towards the King. By admitting that, Shaiapouf wanted to have a mental advantage. Knuckle asks Shaiapouf why he told him, and Shaiapouf answers for the sake of Gon, who demanded him to stay in the room. Gon speaks up, saying that Shaiapouf is lying and actually plans to kill him from behind. Gon demands that Shaiapouf prove himself to be clone, and Shaiapouf responds by bursting into thousands of small clones of himself. He states that he will wait by the palace entrance as answer to the challenge to him.

Neferpitou apologizes to Gon about Shaiapouf's behavior, and is demanded that he has less than ten minutes to heal Komugi. Neferpitou agrees, well knowing that Komugi will be healed in the remaining time. But he worries about who will watch over Komugi when he will fight against Gon. Neferpitou then is resolved to kill Gon. Before Knuckle leaves to fight Shaiapouf, Gon states the possibility that Shaiapouf's main body is on his way to the King, and he also reveals that the King is in the south, which surprises Neferpitou.

As Meruem proceeds to his fighting stance, Netero takes up to the sky and recalls his moments when he waited for his opponent to move. He activates his Nen ability, 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva, and uses the Ninety-Ninth Hand move. Meruem gets caught up in the massive attack and seems to be at the disadvantage. Due to the massive power, the ground crumbles and the two fighters descend inside a tomb, which Netero calls Meruem's tomb. Again, Netero attacks the King, sending him flying across the underground tomb. As the King prepares to retaliate, Netero expresses his gratefulness for their meeting.
