Episode 66: Killua was navigated by the disguised Kiriko to the source of information on the location of the next Hunter Exam site. Outside an apartment, a man gives Killua a card to go to a store. There, a woman shows him to an elevator that brings him to the lowest floor, where many others await the beginning of the exam. He almost runs into a familiar face, Tonpa, up to his old tricks; Amori, Umori, and Imori tell him they're stronger than last year, but Killua completely ignores them. The 1st Phase Examiner bursts through a door and immediately tells the almost 1500 examinees only 300 will make it to the next phase. In just two hours, each examinee must defeat five others, with proof by taking their numbered tags. He closes the door behind him and right away a battle royale ensues.
However, the battle royale is more of a slaughter by one person, Killua. Using his lightning speed and new found strength from Biscuit's training, he knocks out all the examinees with the greatest of ease. He even says "hi" to Zepile before knocking him out and his powers are so great, the Amori Brothers decide to quit taking the Exam. Killua pops his head in the door and the examiner wonders where the others are. Behind him, Killua drags every single numbered tag, shocking the examiner as he looks at all the unconscious applicants. He calls Netero, who tells him Killua can pass, which he does, then and there.
He enters Greed Island, Gon and Biscuit waiting for him at the entrance. They show him the spell cards they've collected while he was gone, ensuring them safety from thieves. Killua tells Gon to use the Contact card, which begins to list names of the people they've run into in the game in their Book. To the boy's surprise, Chrollo's name is on that list. They talk about how he could have run into Chrollo, but how it's not possible since Kurapika inhibited his Nen, a requirement to enter the game. All the while, Biscuit continuously asks who Chrollo is until she gets sick of being ignored and punches them both.
At the same time, Shalnark sees Chrollo's name as well, laughing at the sight. The other Phantom Troupe members wonder how this could be, since he hasn't purged the Nen out of him. Biscuit explains this is possible, the same as giving Nen, it can be taken away. Killua decides to warn Kurapika, while Shalnark remembers the fortune mentioning to go East, the direction from Yorknew City to Greed Island. He determines Chrollo found the island, was kicked out by Razor, hired someone to take his place and used his name as a message to the Troupe. They all decide to find a Nen Exorcist to help their boss. Suddenly Hisoka comes from the shadows, telling the Troupe that he used Chrollo's name, wanting them to help so he can fight him one day.
On the phone, Kurapika tells Killua he knows the power is still on Chrollo. Kurapika enters a room with a distraught Light Nostrade. His daughter, Neon, is still without her powers, meaning without the fortunes for the Mafia bosses, his family will be ruined. Killua tells Biscuit and Gon his conversation with Kurapika. Biscuit is glad, since now they can be done with training and finish the game. Their first quest is to find the King Great White Beetle. Gon uses Rock to punch a tree and millions of bugs fall out. They find three, giving them the #53 card. Another quest involves finding a girl inside a castle. A man explains how impossible it will be, when Killua casually walks out with her, giving them the #46 card. They head to Antokiba next and win the Paladin's Necklace in a competition, the #86 card. This item is especially helpful since it wards off attack spells and reveals fake cards. They also get the #90 card, the #64 card, and the #25 card. The boys are pleased with themselves, but Biscuit knows it's all from the training.
Kazsule contacts Gon, wanting a trade, while Tsezguerra tries to trade with Genthru. He rejects the dealing, knowing Tsezguerra's group has 92 cards, when they actually have 95. He offers Genthru's very rare cards, making the offer too good to be true, all for cards that Genthru's group has been monopolizing. They discuss how the Night Jade card may be the hardest to get in the game now because of them. Meanwhile, Gon trades Witch's Love Potion for Kazsule's Book of V.I.P. Passes. In Dorias, the three go to the slot machines and use Risky Dice for luck. In one try, Killua wins the #79 card. He wants to try again, but Biscuit warns him about the bad luck side, Killua dismissing it as it's only a 1 in 20 chance. Suddenly, a nearby gambler's slot machine explodes in his face, a Risky Dice lying next to him and Killua wonders if he should stop.
Genthru continues to harass a pair of players. He forces them to roll Risky Dice to change cards into the ones they want. One player changes a card, but it ends up being the wrong number. Bara thinks they should trade, but Genthru doesn't want to fight them just yet. Sub thinks they should use Tax Collector's Gauntlet, which has the ability to destroy another player's restricted cards. Using Risky Dice at the same time, they'll also be able to Levy cards as well. To prove his loyalty, Genthru rolls a Risky Dice, landing on good luck and agrees with the plan.
Back at the slot machines, Killua is about to roll the die one more time, when Biscuit suddenly knocks him out. Gon carries him on his back as the three head to the next city.
Episode 67: After Genthru's team trades cards with Tsezguerra's team, Genthru suddenly claims that it is an unfair trade. One of Tsezguerra's men denies this and they begin arguing. Without being noticed, Bara and Sub sneak behind them. They use Risky Dice, which lands on "Good Luck" and they move quickly towards them to use the spell card Levy to steal Tsezguerra and the other's cards. Seeing his men are finished, Genthru uses the card Return at the same time as Bara and Sub activate, each one, an equal card and they disappear to Masadora. Soon, Tsezguerra and his men realize they've been tricked. With five different card types stolen, they form a plan to prevent Genthru from completing the game.
Meanwhile, Gon, Killua, and Biscuit are walking through a forest when Gon says he wonders how they can find any cards with so many players in the game. They mention the Leave card and how people want to exit the game, so Killua gets the idea to trade cards with people who want to do just that. They head to Masadora and begin trading Leave cards for people's special cards. As a result, they get 4 restricted slot cards for 3 Leaves, making a total of 54 card types. After that, they begin to trade cards with other players. When trading cards with a man in the forest, Gon discovers that the Favor Cushion is a Fake with the help of the Paladin's Necklace. Once finished, they continue their journey. While on the road, Gon asks Killua if the sickness of the villagers was caused by a curse. Biscuit states that it won't work since they are not cards. Killua, however, suggests that they should try it.
They go back to the village, and inside their house, Gon asks them if they would trust them with their lives and they reply they do. The Sick Villagers transform into cards, and when Gon uses his Necklace, they become Healthy Villagers cards. As a prize for healing them, they receive the Wild Luck Alexandrite card. Outside the house, someone uses a Contact card and it is Kazsule. He wishes to meet them in person to discuss Genthru's team. Soon, they meet with Kazsule's team and a few other teams, such as Asta's team, Hanse's team, Yabibi's team and Goreinu who is alone. After thanking them, Kazsule begins the discussion, but is interrupted by Killua's question. He asks how to check rankings of other players, which leads to Asta mocking him. Kazsule and Nick try to calm her down and answer Killua's question. They determine which cards Genthru has not obtained yet and how to prevent them from clearing the game.
After reaching a decision, Kazsule states everyone there needs to cooperate, which is rejected by Asta. She refuses the idea of working with Gon and Killua because she thinks that they won't be able to contribute. Killua denies this and claims to have information about Genthru's abilities and that they have one of the three cards they are missing. Asta is satisfied and she offers them an A-rank card in return for the information. However, Killua refuses this and asks for 2 S-rank cards, or equally valuable information, which angers Asta. They are stopped by Kazsule and in the end, Gon ends up telling everyone everything they know. Soon, they begin to forget their past matters and cooperate. With the Accompany card, they all go to Soufrabi.
They begin searching for information and after wandering around for a while, they manage to get some from a lady NPC. She tells them the history of the land and mentions Razor and 14 pirates are in the city. They'll kill anyone who dares tell them about the Plot of Beach, so Gon and the others will have to get rid of the pirates first if they want more information. With that, they enter the pirate's base and confront them.
Episode 68: Kazsule asks Bopobo and his team to leave the city, yet they just laugh at them. Bopobo challenges them to a fight; if anyone can move him out of a ring of fire, they will take Gon's team to their boss. Zeho comes forward confidently and engages Bopobo into a fight. However, Bopobo turns the tables and proceeds to burn Zeho's foot. Zeho pleads Bopobo to release him, but he takes his time. Gon intervenes, kicking Bopobo's cheek. He explains that the rule requires one person out of the ring. Admitting defeat is meaningless. Since Gon attacked Bopobo within the ring and then jumped outside, therefore he is disqualified. Gon asks for another chance, but Killua takes on Bopobo. Killua takes a bottle of liquor and splashes it on Bopobo's head and face. With his electricity, Killua ignites Bopobo's head who runs out of the ring. Bopobo rolls towards the wall. He sits up and tries to attack Killua, but one of his partners kicks him in the stomach causing him to fly across the room.
The Pirate boxer takes them to their boss who is in a gym. Razor decides that they should hold a contest; if Gon's team wins, Razor and his pirates will leave the island. However, he'll choose what kind of contest they'll perform. The theme is sports and each of the pirates will challenge them in a match. The first team with eight points wins.
The first match is boxing. The pirate boxer and Montreux proceed to the ring. Montreux starts off confidently and attacks the Pirate boxer with his Emitter Nen ability. He states that fighting within a closed range is an ideal situation for an Emitter, just like the pirate boxer. Montreux continuously attacks with his Nen and successfully knocks him down. Just as his team is about to celebrate, Gon notices that Montreux has been hit as well. He collapses in the ring, while the Pirate boxer stands up. Since their other team members did not notice, Killua explains that the pirate boxer is using teleportation. He teleported his punch below Montreux's chin, while Montreux attacked. Not long after, Razor confirms that Montreux is unconscious and that his team earns one win.
The next match is juggling soccer balls with the Pirate footballer. Gon volunteers, but Killua stops him. He proceeds to whisper something with Gon and Biscuit, an idea that Biscuit finds wise. She volunteers for the match. Not a second after, Biscuit fails the match and admits her loss casually. Killua is next and is challenged into a sumo match. Bopobo charges immediately towards Killua, but he purposely jumps off the circle, giving Razor's team another win. Hours later, Goreinu is defeated against a basketball match which gives Razor's team a total of eight points.
Gon and his team realize that they cannot win the match with their current lineup. Asta and her team leave the party, saying that their objective, keeping the Bombers from winning the game, is done. Before leaving, she tells the remaining members that even if they acquire the card, they will become targeted.
The rest of the team dissolves, leaving Gon, Killua, Biscuit, and Goreinu behind. Goreinu suggests a party of at least eleven members to participate. Gon searches through his Book and comes across Chrollo Lucilfer's name. Gon and Killua are convinced that it's not Chrollo, but probably a member of the Phantom Troupe. They begin to think about the member's objectives of using Chrollo's name. Goreinu suggests that they use "Clairvoyance" to confirm if the person is trying to beat the game or not. They find out that the person is not, considering that his cards are only food and water. Gon decides to approach the person to ask questions, but Killua says otherwise. They begin to argue, but Gon still insists. In the morning, the four of them use "Accompany".
They are taken to a foggy lake. Hisoka is washing himself in the lake and turns around. He greets Killua and Gon with a surge of aura, which is returned by Gon and Killua. Hisoka takes notice of their growth and begins to wonder who their teacher is. He takes a look at Goreinu, but guesses it's not him. He turns to Biscuit, who has been drooling over his naked body. Biscuit immediately turns around when she catches Hisoka looking at her.
Hisoka gets dressed and Gon asks him why he came to Greed Island. Hisoka decides to lie; he knows Gon and Killua will try to stop the Spiders from finding the Nen Exorcist. He replies that he is looking for Chrollo, revealing there is a way to remove Kurapika's chain and he is looking for Chrollo to give him that information. He knows that some Spiders are interested in the game so he decided to use Chrollo's name. It is Hisoka's turn to ask and inquires as to why they came to him. Gon innocently replies that there is none, but Biscuit interrupts. She attempts to look cute in front of Hisoka and asks him to join their team. Hisoka agrees without hesitation. Her teammates confront her about this, but she tells them that Hisoka is lying. Hisoka suggests they go to the City of Love, Aiai, to look for more partners.
On their way, Killua asks Biscuit why Hisoka is lying. She replies that Hisoka is not speaking the truth. She adds that being a liar for fifty years, she can tell and since Hisoka is lying, they will keep him around. He stares at Gon and Killua's behind. They sense the creepy feeling and demand that Hisoka walk in front. Hisoka knows they need ten more people for the group and Goreinu hopes there is someone who is not interested in cards. Biscuit observes Hisoka from behind and is very convinced that he is hiding something. As Hisoka notices her, Biscuit switches into her "innocent side." Hisoka asks Goreinu about the spell, which made them locate him. Also, Killua begins to suspect Hisoka's inconsistent explanation.
They arrive in Aiai. As they enter, a girl trips behind Hisoka. She looks for her glasses and Hisoka tells Gon to help her in order to become friends. Another girl bumps into Goreinu and he apologizes. Just as the girl runs away, Hisoka tells Goreinu he should not have apologized and started a fight instead. They notice another girl being cornered by three men and Gon comes to her rescue. These are all weird NPC situations with rules like a Dating Sim. Biscuit is approached by a man who calls her hair beautiful and asks to become his hair styling model. Killua gets fed up and suggests to Hisoka that they leave the place. Hisoka remarks that the place won't bore them. Killua realizes the word bore and begins to deduce Hisoka's explanation. He concludes that Hisoka has already found the Troupe and is waiting for the Nen Exorcist.
They leave Aiai and Gon tells Killua they should recruit Tsezguerra's team. Killua realizes that he can confirm his hypothesis if he can see Hisoka's binder. Gon walks up to Hisoka and asks him to show his binder, something that Hisoka won't suspect. He shows them his binder and they proceed to contact Tsezguerra. Killua is surprised that no name of the Troupe members appear on screen. While Gon talks with Tsezguerra, Hisoka hides his Texture Surprise behind his back, having switched the names on his binder. Gon's group uses the "Accompany" card to reach Tsezguerra and his team.
Episode 69: Gon and his group have managed to recruit Tsezguerra and his team. Goreinu gives Tsezguerra the assignment to pick a person for each sport and what types Razor and his gang are using based on the previous battle. He also gives bad news after learning that Genthru's gang have already collected 97 cards.
After a week has passed, Gon and the rest are ready to take on Razor and his crew. Gon's new team easily wins matches making Razor realize the six players Gon, Killua, Hisoka, Biscuit, Tsezguerra, and Goreinu are stronger than the last team. Razor asks his comrades to toss their matches and Bopobo has enough of Razor and wants his revenge after what Killua did to him. The other Pirates agree and try to take Razor down, but he uses his Nen ability and throws it directly at Bopobo, blowing up his head instantly.
Afterwards, Gon's group has accumulated 4 wins since Razor decided to give them the win for the Sumo match since Bopobo is dead. Suddenly, Razor changes the rules and announces that the next game will be Dodgeball that needs 8 players for each team. Whoever wins the game will automatically have 8 wins. Tsezguerra realizes that Razor can't win the game alone, when Razor forms the Devils, another Nen ability. In fear, the random teammates of Gon decide to back out, leaving Gon's team with only 6 players. After discussions about Greed Island actually being in the real world, Gon asks Razor if Ging is here. Razor learns that the one standing in front of him is Ging's son and delivers a message directly to Gon from his father: that he won't take it easy on him and Gon smiles.
Goreinu reveals his Nen ability and creates two apes that complete the team's players to 8. After an explanation of the rules of the game, the match finally starts. Razor freely gives the ball to Gon's group, making Killua tap the ball to Goreinu, who immediately attacks one of Razor's devils and continues to attack, bringing down two opponents. Goreinu tries to throw the ball directly to Razor, but it is stopped by using only one hand. Razor controls the ball now and throws it towards Goreinu. Goreinu, who can feel the immense power of Razor's throws, switches places with his ape and it's demolished by the attack. After a short discussion, Razor continues to attack, this time involving his devils by passing the ball fast to one another. Gon's team prepares for the attack, but because of the speed, Tsezguerra is hit on his back and is severely injured. After hitting Tsezguerra, the ball rebounds and lands in Killua's hands, who notices that it was very heavy, and compares it to a bowling ball. Tsezguerra manages to avoid a lethal blow by putting aura on his back, but he is still severely injured and can't walk straight, going to the sideline to watch the game. He's displeased with his ability, realizing it's time to start training from scratch.
Once the game resumes, Hisoka wants the ball from Killua and immediately attacks an opponent by using his Bungee Gum. Killua realizes the advantage of Hisoka's Bungee Gum so they decide to take out the remaining Devils and leave Razor for last. Hisoka starts to attack, but before the ball hits the opponent, 2 Devils merge into 1 and catch the ball. Hisoka lets the ball go, realizing that the Devil is too strong. Once Razor prepares to attack Gon, Killua uses Ken. Razor states they won't die depending on what area they'll get hit. Razor fires and Gon prepares, putting his fists to his forehead to block Razor's attack, but it sends him flying all the way through the wall. He immediately gets up saying he's okay and is now fired up even more.
Episode 70: As the game continues Gon is a bit injured, but fired up. The ball will remain on Gon's side, but since the ball hit the ceiling, which is part of the floor, Gon is technically out. He is forced to use Back to be able to return to the game. Goreinu and Killua pass the ball to each other until Gon is done getting patched up. Goreinu, who wants to get even with Razor, launches a throw directly to his black ape and switches places with the ape to hit Razor in the face. Before it lands on the ground, Razor's Devil manages to catch the ball and quickly attacks Goreinu. He is hit in the face himself, and becomes unconscious. Goreinu now out of the game for good, Tsezguerra realizes his team is now at a clear disadvantage.
Razor's next attack is a slide throw towards Killua, but before it reaches him the ball changes its direction towards Biscuit and Hisoka. The two manage to dodge the ball, but one of Razor's Devils appears outside, beside Hisoka, and catches it, throwing the ball back to Hisoka. Hisoka manages to block the attack using his Bungee Gum, but in spite of this, he stills gets injured. Killua analyzes the attack and wonders if he hadn't dodged left he might have been killed. Everyone is shocked Biscuit is out since her dress was hit and is counted as part of the body. Gon uses his Back and returns to the game. Hisoka discovers that the ball thrown outside was less powerful than Razor's attack and Killua states that if they avoid Razor's attack they will avoid serious damage. Gon disagrees, wanting to win fairly and won't settle for a cheap win. He wants to utterly destroy Razor at his own game. He asks Killua to stand at the center of the field and Gon charges his Nen ability while Killua holds the ball for Gon to punch. With an incredible force, Gon lets loose Jajanken and hits one of Razor's powerful Devils, sending it out of the field.
Gon is upset because the attack needed more power to take down Razor. Before he attacks again, Gon closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, focusing his Ren. He suddenly releases an immense amount of aura and charges his Nen more powerful than the last time. He punches the ball towards Razor, while at the same time Razor increases his Nen to block the attack, using both hands and sends the ball flying upwards without hitting the ceiling. Everyone is amazed at what they just saw and can barely move. Razor explains that they can do more than catch and dodge. While Razor waits for the ball to come down, Hisoka takes the opportunity to catch the ball using Bungee Gum to send Razor out and force him to use his Back.
Tsezguerra's group likes their odds 3 on 2, but Tsezguerra explains that their team is the one that's disadvantaged seeing the condition of Gon and Hisoka. To make matters worse, Killua has severely injured his hands by putting only a little Nen protection on them to avoid decreasing the power of Gon's attack. Tsezguerra decides to call a timeout and asks Gon to punch the ball outside for him to hold the ball because of his concerns with Killua's injury. Killua disagrees and thinks this will be a cop-out. He fakes the severity of his injury, stating he is fine, but Biscuit pulls out his hands from his pockets and reveals they are very swollen. Killua insists on holding the ball and Gon trusts his friend and wants Killua to hold it for him, believing he's the only one who can do it. When the timeout is over, Biscuit takes the ball and throws it to the last Devil inside, sending him out of the game. Now Razor gains control of the ball and Gon comes up with an idea to be able to stop Razor's attack.
