Anime Look Back: Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan S1 Episode 14-24 Summary

Episode 14: Inugamigyobu Tamazuki and his 88 Demons of Shikoku come to Rikuo and loudly declare that they will take over the Nura Clan, directly challenging Rikuo. Rikuo in his human form hides his true feelings so that his friends won't find out about him.


Episode 15: Kagibari Onna, one of the Seven Phantom Travelers, has infiltrated the Nura Clan and is working as a waitress at Bakenekoya. But Yura isn't fooled by her disguise and informs Rikuo. Later Yura came late to the scene after Kappa and Night Rikuo left


Episode 16: While Tamazuki prepares to attack, Kiyotsugu tells the Kiyojuji Paranormal Patrol that he has made a discovery in his yōkai investigations - someone has been destroying shrines all over Ukiyoe Town. In one shrine Yura who arrived earlier than the Patrol went hiding in tree until they split up. While Rikuo and Oikawa discuss about the shrine destruction, Yura begin to suspect that Rikuo is having an affair. After the Patrol regroup she reminds Rikuo that "Thos who hunt two rabbits at one, don't even catch one". Meanwhile in Shikoku, Nurarihyon found Inugamigyobu-Tanuki, the Supreme Commander of Shikoku region. At night Jiro spot Sodemogi who tries to curse Kiyotsugu. Sodemogi is later saved by Tearai Oni and Inu Hou-Ou


Episode 17: Natsumi is the only person who continues to pay her respects to the local deity, Lord Senba. She decides to pay a visit to Lord Senba's shrine, but Lord Sodemogi is headed to the same place to continue his killing spree of local deities.


Episode 18: After Lord Sodemogi's demise, the Shikoku Yokai plan to kill Rikuo, but the bloodthirsty Inugami gets impatient and goes after Rikuo on his own.


Episode 19: Inugami finally shows his true self. He easily brushes Rikuo's defenders aside and is about to kill Rikuo but the sun sets and Rikuo takes on his night form. Inugami proves no match for 'night' Rikuo but before he an be dispatched, Tanuki shows up and whisks him away.


Episode 20: Upon destroying most of Ukiyoe Town's local deities and confirming the strength of the Nura Clan with Inugami's attack, Tamazuki decides to finally bring on the main assault on Rikuo's clan.


Episode 21: When the Nura Clan hears about the Shikoku Yokai's attack on the Chichibo fortress, its members busily prepare to mobilize their small number of troops.


Episode 22: As the battle progresses, Rikuo makes his way up towards Tamazaki. They spar but Rikuo is brought to his knees when one of Tamazaki's subordinates, Yosuzume, sneaks up and blinds him with her touch. Tamazaki asks Rikuo to join him, but he refuses. In rage, Tamazaki tries to kill Rikuo. Meanwhile, Tsurara, who has been searching for Rikuo since she lost track of at the beginning of the battle, arrives in the nick of time and blocks the blow. Yosuzume then touches Tsurara, blinding her as well as the rest of the battling yōkai. Though blinded, Tsurara and Rikuo work together to defeat Tamazaki's subordinates and Tsurara breaks the spell by freezing Yosuzume.


Episode 23: Rikuo and his clan continue to fight with the tenacious Shikoku yokai who are adamant in conquering Rikuo's Fear. The Shikoku yokai's leader, Tamazaki begins to mercilessly kill his own comrades with the Mao's Hammer in order to absorb their strengths and wield them as his own. Elsewhere, Inugami abducts Kana and holds her hostage, however, she is rescued and Tamazaki slaughters Inugami. This leads to a final showdown between Rikuo and his allies and Tamazaki, who now has acquired ultimate strength.


Episode 24: Rikuo becomes one with himself and has to come to the realization that no matter what, he is the Third Heir. The battle between Tamazuki and Rikuo carries on past the break of dawn, when Rikuo usually returns to his human form.
