Anime Look Back: World Trigger S1 Episode 25-32 Summary

Episode 25: As Chika is frozen in fear in front of one of the new Rabbits, Osamu cries out for her to run. Izuho fires a shot, and the Rabbit directs its attention to her instead. Izuho is grabbed by the Rabbit, and Chika is lost in her fear and by the sound of everyone telling her to run away. Suddenly, she remembers Yūma saying of course she should be able to to fight. Finally remembering her own resolve to fight on her own, Chika grabs Izuho's gun and fires at the Rabbit, completely blowing off its left arm. Still moving, the Rabbit reaches for Chika and Izuho, but is finished off by Osamu, who reports to Shinoda at HQ. Shinoda informs him that Border's strongest unit was already sent to help them. This turns out to be Tamakoma First. Kizaki explains their plan: Konami goes on a rampage, and he Karasuma will provide support.

Aboard their ship, Hyuse asks if the shot Chika fired was from a Black Trigger. Mira answers that it must be from a Normal Trigger. This catches Hairein's attention, and he orders Enedra and Lamvanein to help the Rabbits by scattering the Border agents as planned, which Lamvanein anticipates will be boring. Hairein decides to sends Viza and Hyuse to capture this "golden chick," Chika. Hairein says that perhaps in this place they will obtain their new god.

Still fighting, Osamu notices that the other Rabbits are learning from the fight as he uses his shield to hold one off. The other heads straight for Chika and Izuho, but Kizaki stops it singlehandedly and reminds Chika of the first rule of being a sniper: concealing yourself.

Kizaki then knocks the Rabbit into the other, just in time for Konami to land on top of them. Karasuma uses Escudo to protect Osamu and Konami from the Rabbits' blast. Osamu warns that if they are captured, the Rabbits will turn them into cubes. Karasuma says they were already informed of this and orders Osamu to assist the C-rank agents.

Despite Konami's over-confidence, Osamu warns that there are still other Trion Warriors that can open gates. Just then, a gate opens above them, and Viza and Hyuse appear. Elsewhere, Enedra and Lamvanein appear in front of Kazama Unit and other agents respectively. Osamu immediately recognizes that these two are from Aftokrator because of Hyuse's horns. Previously, Replica had explained to the head staff at HQ that these horns are Trion receptors implanted in children from Aftokrator in order to create people with high Trion ability. The horns make Triggers more a part of their bodies than weapons and allow for higher compatibility with Black Triggers, at which time the horns turn black.

Facing Enedra, Kazama notices his black horns and says that they've hit the jackpot. Lamvanein faces off against Azuma and Okudera, and is distracted by shots from Chano Unit. Already prepared to attack, Lamvanein hits Chano and Fujisawa, causing them to bail out in just one shot. Assuming that the attack has drained his Trion, the others run away, but Lamvanein attacks with a huge gun and runs after them. Taichi is hit and is forced to bail out as well.

He is stopped momentarily by Arafune Unit, who fires shots from above. When the smoke clears, they can see that Lamvanein has created several small shields, one for each bullet. He then showcases the long-range power of his Trigger, Chelidon, causing two more to bail out. Other B-rank agents learn of Lamvanein's terrifying rampage as he relishes in the chance to take down all of them and perhaps not feel as bored as he thought.

Hyuse decides to capture Chika himself and asks Viza to be his backup. Viza agrees, but warns that their target has high Trion ability as well and for Hyuse to be careful. Hyuse activates his Trigger and begins to approach Osamu's group. Considering the difficulty in facing attacks from both sides, Kizaki orders Konami to destroy both of the Rabbits in three minutes. She brags that she will finish them in one minute and tells Kizaki not to lose before she is finished. He tells Karasuma that they will stay on defense until she returns to protect the C-ranks. When Osamu anxiously asks what he should do, Kizaki tells him to protect Chika with his life.

Impressed by Kizaki's calm demeanor, Viza thinks they might be tougher than anticipated. Hyuse replies that since the "chicks" are still behind them, Kizaki and Karasuma are at a disadvantage. He fires at them, but Karasuma once again raises a wall to block his shots. Konami shocks everyone by destroying the Rabbits quickly and reclaiming the cubes inside. Replica explains that Tamakoma's Triggers were made differently from all the ones at HQ. While most Triggers are made to be used by many different users and fight continuously, Tamakoma's Triggers are specifically made to match each user's abilities. These Triggers were made from Triggers that Rindō brought back from the Neighbor world. Since they fail to meet HQ's regulations, Tamakoma First doesn't participate in the Rank Wars. Even so, Shinoda calls them Border's strongest unit, and Osamu realizes the full extent of their strength. Kizaki and Karasuma fire on Hyuse, but his shield merely reflects the shots back at them.

Elsewhere, Enedra taunts Kazama Unit on a rooftop. Linked together, they wonder about what type of Black Trigger he has. Enedra uses his Trigger, Vorvoros, to liquefy and attack Kazama Unit from below. Kikuchihara notices this and they jump out of the way, to Enedra's surprise. Kazama tells Mikami to link in to Kikuchihara's ears, and Utagawa tells him to focus, because they are counting on his Side Effect.

Episode 26: The episode begins with a flashback two years ago, explaining that Kikuchihara has enhanced hearing, a low-rank Side Effect according to Border's standards. In fact, he didn't realize it was a certified Side Effect until someone else pointed it out. Kikuchihara was disappointed and considered his Side Effect lame and useless until he was suddenly approached by Kazama, Mikami, and Utagawa. Mikami explained that auditory information could be analyzed and in fact shared by the entire team. Kazama invited Kikuchihara to join their team once he became an official agent.

Back to the present, Enedra grows annoyed because he can't seem to hit anyone in Kazama Unit. Enedra's Trigger is a liquid Trigger, shooting blades from all sides. Kazama notices this is like Fūjin, but not as fast.

In the past, Kikuchihara's Side Effect allowed his team to perceive attacks with both their eyes and their ears. Despite Chameleon becoming popular about that time, Kazama Unit was able to easily defeat opponents and rise in the rankings, quickly achieving A-rank.

Enedra wonders about his opponents' ability to sense his attacks. Kazama worries about growing sick from using Kikuchihara's Side Effect for too long, but strategizes that they should continue until Enedra becomes irritated and lets down his guard. Noticing this, Enedra surrounds them with sound, but Kikuchihara has used his Side Effect for so long that he can discern even the quality, weight, and condition of things merely from sound. Thanks to Kikuchihara, the team once again dodges incoming attacks. Kazama strikes off Enedra's head, which liquifies and reforms on his body. Enedra scoffs at Kazama for assuming that his whole body can become liquid, and Kazama coughs up Trion energy. Mikami explains that without receiving a hit, somehow Enedra has created blades attacking from inside Kazama's Trion body. Enedra proceeds to mock them on their efforts as his blades cut through Kazama, forcing him to bail out.

Elsewhere in the city, Osamu, the members of Tamakoma First, and Arashiyama Unit hear that Kazama was forced to bail out and realize it must be a Black Trigger. Utagawa and Kikuchihara face off against Enedra, but at HQ Kazama orders them to retreat, stating that their blades aren't a good match for a liquid Trigger. Utagawa suggests they find his Trion Supply Center and destroy it, and Kikuchihara says that Enedra irritates him. Kazama reminds them that Sasamori was more reasonable than the two of them, and tells them to go ahead, but they will most likely die. Utagawa and Kikuchihara concede and escape using Chameleon. Mikami tells Kazama that they were only worked up because Enedra mocked him. Kazama says it is better for them to retreat here and be capable of fighting later, since he may not be able to re-enter the fight. Trion bodies have to fully recharge after a bail out, and the battle might not last long enough for Kazama to fight again.

Elsewhere, an injured Murakami faces off agains three of the new-type Rabbits. He resolves to hold them off as long as he can. One Rabbit leaps at him, but is sliced in half by Tachikawa, who says he was ordered by Shinoda to kill as many Rabbits as he can. Tachikawa easily dispatches the other two Rabbits, and Murakami marvels at how Kogetsu seems to be made especially for Tachikawa. Tachikawa inquires about the Rabbit-kill rankings from Kunichika and asks to have two of his kills awarded to Murakami for having heavily damaged them before he arrived. Shinoda orders him to replace Kazama Unit in the urban area and destroy Trion Warriors while protecting the C-rank agents and civilians. Kinuta and Netsuki protest, saying that Tachikawa should go after the enemy's Black Trigger. Shinoda reasons that the humanoid Neighbors' purpose is to draw away A- and B-rank agents so the Rabbits can capture as many of the C-rank agents as possible. Karasawa Katsumi listens in as Shinoda explains further that if the humanoid Neighbor should appear in the urban area, Tachikawa has permission to engage. Tachikawa eagerly acknowledges, inwardly inviting the Black Trigger to come to him. Karasawa, recently returned from a business trip, decides to speak with as many ministries and agencies as he can.

Jin appears in front of Yūma, Arashiyama, and Tokieda. He states that he left Amō in charge of the west side of HQ and asks to take Yūma with him. Arashiyama agrees, knowing that Jin must have something planned. Jin says his is worried about Osamu and Chika and feels they stand on the crossroads of an uncertain future. Yūma asks if Konami isn't enough to protect Osamu and the others. Jin says that even if Konami wins, the worst can come to pass, explaining that it isn't just victory or defeat that decides the future. Yūma asks what the worst possible future looks like, suggesting perhaps that Chika is captured. Jin gravely denies, saying that Chika being captured is one step before the worst. In the worst possible future, Osamu dies.

Episode 27: Yūma and Arashiyama are shocked to hear that Osamu might die. Jin nonchalantly says that future isn't certain, and that he and Yūma are leaving to ensure it doesn't happen. HQ ordered Yūma to stay out of the urban area, but Jin says Osamu's group is headed back to HQ anyway, and they'll meet up inside the Forbidden Zone. He adds that Kizaki and the others will lead Osamu to them.

Kizaki and Karasuma are still fighting against Hyuse, who is floating in the air, surrounded by his Trigger. Their bullets cannot penetrate his reflective shield. At the same time, Konami faces off against Viza. Wary of Viza's Trigger, Konami backs off, and Viza prompts Hyuse to fulfill their mission. Hyuse uses his Trigger to fire magnetic particles at Chika, which then begin to lift her into the air. Osamu reaches out for her and is lifted up along with her. Karasuma begins firing again, and Hyuse responds by creating a larger shield to protect himself. This thins out his protection; however, and Kizaki is able to punch thru it. Hyuse is sent flying backwards, and Chika and Osamu are dropped back to the ground. Kizaki then orders Karasuma to take Osamu and the others back to the base while he and Konami keep the enemy busy.

Shinoda orders all available agents to meet up with Osamu and Karasuma on their way. While protecting several C-rank agents, Miwa receives Shinoda's order and recalls Jin previously asking him to help Osamu in the upcoming battle, since Miwa would be the only one who could help Osamu at that time.

Lamvanein walks calmly through the Forbidden Zone, while Arafune, Kakizaki, Tomoe, and Azuma confer on what action to take . Midorikawa asks Yoneya what they should do, since they can't back up Tamakoma unless they take out Lamvanein first. Izumi decides they should take Lamvanein out first and asks Kunichika for visual information and then requests additional insight from Azuma and the others. Izumi explains their plan, and leads off by attacking with Tomahawk. Midorikawa uses Grasshopper as a distraction, and Yoneya comes from behind and attacks with his spear at close range. Lamvanein sees thru their tactics and fires a shot toward Izumi. Impressed by their pincer tactics, Lamvanein takes off into the air and rains down a barrage of shots. He crashes into the building after Midorikawa, seeking to take them out one at a time. Overconfident, Lamvanein is caught off guard when Midorikawa uses a fire extinguisher as a smoke screen and manages to cut one of his legs off.

Previously, after his fight against Yūma, Midorikawa learned from Yoneya that Yūma was playing him the whole time. He won two rounds and believed he had the upper hand. When Yūma began to win; however, Midorikawa grew impatient and began to make mistakes, unaware that Yūma was manipulating him the whole time. In his current fight, Midorikawa continues to use Grasshopper to slash at Lamvanein, but is unable to land another blow and barely dodges a blast that takes out the side of the building. Lamvanein flies up into the air again and dodges Izumi's Hound, but his rockets are hit by Arafune and Azuma. Lamvanein is knocked out of the air, but not before firing at Arafune, hitting him in the shoulder. Realizing that their superior numbers might finally have an advantage with the three A-rank agents fighting, Azuma orders all the B-rank agents to distract Lamvanein. Using Kuruma as a decoy, Yoneya leaps from above, but Lamvanein sees thru this and turns to fire. He is caught; however, as the others create a shield in front of Yoneya, protecting him until he finally stabs Lamvanein through the chest.

Episode 28: Lamvanein is defeated by the joint efforts of A-Class and B-Class agents, while Enedra infiltrates Border's Headquarters. While Reiji and Kirie's battle against Viza and Hyuse progresses, Visa sends Neighbors to the Urban Zone, forcing Kirie to go after them, as Reiji said that's the direction of Kyōsuke's house. Alone against the two humanoid Neighbors, Reiji is quickly outmatched by Visa, who activates his trigger Organon, one of Aftokrator's natural treasures. Hyuse and Viza then go after the C-Class trainees, but are interrupted by Yūichi Jin and Yūma Kuga.

Episode 29: Yūma and Jin decide to battle the Humanoid Neighbors separatedly, with Yūma and Replica taking on Viza and Jin taking care of Hyuse. Jin leads Hyuse to the sewers, while Yūma holds Viza back so that Osamu and Kyōsuke can run away with the C-Rank agents.

Episode 30: Yūma and Jin fight Viza and Hyuse respectively; Suwa Unit fights Enedra; and Osamu, Karasuma, and the C-Rank trainees are attacked by Rabbits. Yoneya, Midorikawa, and Izumi join them. However, feeling that the mission was getting nowhere, Hairein joins the battle himself, cubifying Chika.

Episode 31: After Chika is cubified, Osamu makes it his mission to take her cube to the HQ in safety, swiftly dodging the Rabbits' attacks until Replica comes to his aid and summons Border's own Rabbit. Replica helps Osamu get to the base while Izumi, Yoneya and Karasuma stay behind to fight Hairein and the Rabbits.

Episode 32: Enedra is defeated by the joint efforts of Border agents, and subsequently killed by Mira. Later, Mira gives Hairein support in battle, and he is able to defeat Izumi.
