The whole animation was great as expected of the studio, Ufotable... They have done quite a number of Type-Moon's series... While their first series was a set of movies of Kara no Kyoukai (Garden of the Sinners)... They have done 3 Fate (Main) series...
The first been Fate/Zero where we learn what happened before the start of this current series, which is a trilogy... With as little spoilers as possible I will do a review of the movie...
The movie started with a flashback that lasted quite a while, there was an opening that was very brief was viewers which have know this part as it was the same in UBW-TV series... The flashback scene included one scene that is quite important... Zoukan asked Shiro about his little sister that he did not know of... So Shiro met with this sister of his... Of cause Shiro has no idea who she was as his father who took him in 10 years during the last Fuyuki City's Holy Grail War... Shiro keeps questioning himself what it take to be a hero of justice and for what he is doing this... Shiro was very protective of Sakura... Sakura was been bully by his brother, Shinji who was friends with Shiro... Sakura goes to Shiro as she wants to be away from Shinji and Zouken and they have been doing things to her...
Rin who was Saruka's real sister was back in Fuyuki city after been for about 10 years... She is back to take part in the Holy Grail War like her father did 10 years ago... Little did she know that her sister Sakura has been through a lot, as she was been forced to have bugs that gives the person magic powers, as Rin learn at the end... Shiro's servant Saber fought True Assassin, True Assassin comes out of no where, and he was the cause of Assassin's death much to Caster's shock... Caster's master was killed shortly after his return from school, as he was sensei... Lancer also fought with True Assassin... An unknown figure in black appears out of nowhere and attack various servants...
All the fight scenes animation was very well done, very high quality and very detailed... The soundtracks coupled with the fight scenes was great too, as Fate/Zero composer Kajiura Yuki is back to composing this movie... She did an amazing job as usual, are was some tracks sounded like tracks from Fate/Zero... Some of the scenes are mention above...
So my rating for the movie is 9/10...
Lastly there 2 more movies to come very soon, the second movie will be released sometime this year...
